We hired Mike and his team to waterproof our front porch as we got leakages into the basement underneath after each big snowfall when the snow sat on the porch and then melted. We needed a contractor who knew what he was doing and who could promise us that he could remove and reuse the existing interlocking stones. Mike came as scheduled and carefully removed the interlocking, cleaned up everything underneath and waterproofed the porch carefully before laying back each stone in the exact same pattern they were before. Its been about a month now and weve had many heavy rainfalls since and so far our basement has remained dry. We are so happy that we dont have to worry every time the forecast says snow or rain anymore, ever since Mike waterproofed our porch. His craftsmanship is very meticulous and he and his colleague cleaned up everything, after the job was done, while retaining a positive attitude. I wished we hired him when we got all the interlocking work done around our house back then. We will happily recommend Better Days Waterproofing to our neighbours and friends without hesitation. We recently finished our full gut kitchen renovation with Evan and his team at Jiang's Home Renovation and cannot say enough how happy we are with the work of this team. From the start, Evan has been very responsive to questions and concerns we had during the process. Everybody who has done home renovations before, knows how stressful it can be for the homeowner, especially a full gut kitchen renovation that requires so much planning and attention to detail. Evan sent us Louis and we couldnt have asked for a better contractor. Louis worked very hard and he is very detail oriented and his craftsmanship is impeccable. He sets high expectations for himself and is yet very humble when we complimented his work. Because our basement is already finished, every contractor who we met told us that they would have to cut open the basement ceiling to do the electrical work in the kitchen. To our positive surprise, Louis was able to get the wires from the kitchen to the electrical box in the basement without cutting a single hole into the basement ceiling! We have to admit that we can sometimes be picky but Louis did not disappoint. He was able to deal with all the concerns we had during the renovation. Additional work was required due to things you cant see until you open up the drywalls or subfloors but Evan was very upfront with the additional costs and there were no surprises in the end. The team was on schedule and on budget and cleaned up every day at the end of their day. We couldnt have asked for a better team to convert our old kitchen into our dream kitchen. Thank you so much Louis and Evan for all your hard work. You exceeded our expectations and we know who to call for future renovation projects.

I contacted Vernon because of recommendations from a neighbour who spoke highly of her experience with Unique Granite & Quartz. During my first phone conversation with Vernon, I already knew that he was very knowledgeable of the products he was selling. We needed quartz for our gut kitchen renovation for the countertops, backsplash and waterfall island. It was very important to us that the backsplash would be installed in one piece without a seam and that the veining of the Calacatta quartz would continue from the countertop to the backsplash. After speaking to several fabricators who all offered the same quartz, we decided to go with Unique as Vernon was the only fabricator who agreed to not cut the backsplash but installed it as a single piece. During installation we understood why the other fabricators refused to install the huge backsplash as a single piece. It was very heavy and Vernon had to be very precise with his measurement to make sure the slab would fit onto the wall opening between the cabinets. The end result did not disappoint. We were so happy that he sent us excellent installers who not only worked super hard into the late hours, but also remained positive during the entire installation process. We also asked for the edges to have a mitre cut and Vernon delivered! The flush reveal around our sink looks perfect! We get so many compliments from people who see our kitchen and we are so happy to have chosen Unique Granite & Quartz. Thanks Vernon for being so patient with the many questions and concerns I had during the process. We love our new quartz!

This review is almost a year late but as we are getting into the summer soon and we are making more use of our deck again, I realize how much I love the Azek PVC deck that Alec and his team built for us last summer. Our old wooden deck was rotting and in a very bad shape. We were very nervous about managing another renovation project as everyone knows how stressful renovations can be. But this backyard renovation project was the opposite of what weve ever experienced. Alec did all the project planning and took a lot of stress off us when it came to decision makings. He suggested a lot of things we had not thought of to make the new backyard even more beautiful and user friendly (added lights, moved faucet up that was too low to reach, adding Plexi glass to cover an opening so my kids dont fall inside, etc). During the process, Alec removed the entire old deck and fence around our backyard, built everything back up from scratch and made a second level of the deck to extend the backyard to make the usable space bigger. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is excellent and second to none. We had family and friends over and everybody commented on how beautiful our backyard is and how well and sturdy the deck and fence was built. This was by far the best renovation experience for us. I called Act Fast Waterproofing to assess the water damage in my basement ceiling. Colm showed up the same day to look at the issue and then he told me that my basement leak would need to be addressed and fixed from the exterior of my basement and it would not fall under any of the services he offers, however, he still took his time to give me recommendations on who to call and how this leak problem could be fixed. On top of that, he also quickly fixed the side of my house where some waterproofing material started to come off. Thank you for your time, Colm. I wished I had called you to waterproof my basement prior to finishing it.

We have a raccoon family of mom with 4 babies living underneath our deck. It wouldn't have been an issue if they stayed underneath and only come out at night time but when they decided to come out during the day as well and to sleep on our bbq grill under its cover, we had to call SWAT Wildlife to resolve this issue. We have young children and could not leave them outside to play in the backyard anymore since the mom and its babies took over our backyard. We called SWAT on Sunday and Randy, the technician came in on Tuesday morning. After checking all entry points that were inside our backyard, he told us that it would only make sense to close up all entry points within our backyard, so they could not come up to the deck anymore. There was no way he could put a mesh fence around the entire property as all decks on our street were connected and open underneath. So, the goal was to prevent the raccoons from having easy access to our deck and backyard, so they would have to look for other entry points to get in and out. We were very happy with how thorough Randy was when closing up the entry points. We now feel much safer again when going out to our deck and backyard. Now, we are crossing fingers that the raccoon family will move on and not bother us on our property anymore. Will recommend SWAT to friends and neighbors if they were in need of an honest and reliable pest control company.

After we had issues with our first contractor who we hired to finish our basement, we hired Alex and his team from DNA Renos to finish the remaining work of our basement project. I have to admit that the job that was still outstanding to get our basement finally finished was not a piece of cake as there was a lot of detail work involved, but Alex completed the job beyond our satisfaction. He is very easy to deal with, knowledgeable, honest and hard working, but the most important quality that we look for when hiring contractors is that they have to be detail-oriented, patient and know what excellent customer service is. Not only did Alex bring all of those qualities into his job, he honestly exceeded our expectations with the end result. The quality of his work is outstanding and we couldn't be any happier that we have found a contractor who we can trust with future projects. I can highly recommend DNA Renos.
