I was having renovation work done in my basement. A pipe going to a hot water radiator up on the first floor suddenly burst due to its age (some place up in the ceiling), and started flooding one if the rooms in the basement. Dayvid and Jimmy of Brothers Plumbing arrived fairly quickly and replaced the broken pipe and installed a new radiator valve. They worked as quickly and efficiently as possible under the circumstances. Before they left, they switched the furnace back on to check that all was operating properly. I am very pleased with Brothers Plumbing and would recommend them, especially to anyone who has a boiler system with the old-fashioned radiators.

My wife and I requested Phil of Raymore Exteriors Corporation to take a look at our roof at our Mississauga home because of the extensive leakage we were having in our kitchen and dining room. The roof had been installed a little over 10 years ago when we noticed leakage beginning. The shingles we chose were top of the line. A number of roofers had already looked at our roof before we called Phil. All of them said that the quality of the shingles was excellent but unfortunately, the workmanship on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being excellent) was a "1". It was a terrible installation. We had also called the shingle manufacturer who provided us with a list of their certified roofing contractors, one of whom attended and agreed that the quality of the shingles was indeed excellent but the manufacturer's warranty was void because they were improperly installed. The original installer provided a 10-year warranty with respect to the workmanship. However, the leakage began shortly after the warranty expired. So, my wife and I decided to call Phil to come over and look at the problem. By the way, Phil and his former company, Contex Roofing, had installed a roof on our former home in Toronto many years ago before we bought our Mississauga home. When Phil arrived, both of us went up on the roof. He looked around and had this disturbed look on his face which confirmed what I thought he was thinking when he asked me who had installed this roof. I was not surprised by the expression on his face because of what I had already heard from several other roofers with respect to the terrible workmanship. AND HERE IT IS, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I advised Phil, who had obviously completely forgotten, that HE AND HIS FORMER COMPANY, CONTEX ROOFING, had installed the roof. At this point, I sensed his temporary discomfort, at which time he turned away and began looking at some chimney flashing as a possible source of the leakage. He then took some photographs with his cell phone and said that he would get back to me with a solution to my roof leakage. He did get back by sending me an e-mail with his proposed repairs at a cost of $1,680.00 plus HST. However, there was no explanation as to why there was all this leakage. There was no admission by Phil that his workmanship with respect to installing the roof was terrible. My wife and I are thoroughly disgusted; not only did we pay for his company's unacceptable roofing job but now he was presenting us with an estimate to correct the resultant leakage. You know what they say: "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...shame on me". I have now had the roof completely replaced by a professional and ethical roofing contractor whom I found through Homestars. As for Phil, I wrote to him numerous times asking that he re-imburse me for at least a portion of the cost of my new roof. Neither he nor his partner, Veena, have responded. I did say that if there is no response forthcoming, then they leave me with no alternative but to turn to social media....and here we are. Because I am a litigation lawyer, I have kept all the documentary evidence, including photographs of the terrible roof installed by Phil before I had it completely replaced. A word of advise: stay away from Phil, Raymore Exteriors Corporation and, if it goes out business, then any other home renovation/contracting business Phil and his partner, Veena, might establish in the future.

My wife and I had a brand new roof put on our Mississauga home a little over 10 years ago. It was when the 10-year workmanship warranty expired, that we began to notice leakage in our kitchen and dining room. We then called in a number of roofers who said that on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best workmanship), our roof rated a 1. However, they all agreed that the quality of shingle was excellent. We then called the shingle manufacturer about their warranty. The gave us a list of their certified installers, one of whom came by and confirmed that the shingles were improperly installed and so, the manufacturer's warranty was void. As for the original roofing contractor, his company is no longer in business. Nevertheless, we called him. He now operates a new business doing home renovations. When he had his old company, he had put a new roof on a house we used to own in Toronto before we moved to Mississauga. He had forgotten that he had put on the roof on our Mississauga home and so, when we both climbed up on the roof, his facial expression clearly showed me that he was disturbed by the quality of the roofing job, especially when he asked me who did this installation. When I replied that it was his old company, he turned around and started to look for reasons as to why there was all this leakage. Not only did he not mention anything about the improper installation of the singles but he took some photos with his cell phone and said that he would get back to me with his opinion as to the cause of the leakage and the cost to repair the problem. Well, he did get back to me with an estimate of $1,680.00 plus HST but no explanation as to why there was this leakage. Needless to say, my wife and I were shocked that not only did he take advantage of us when the roof was initially improperly installed but now he was trying to get us to pay to fix his improper workmanship. This would still leave us to repair at our own expense all the drywall damage in our home. We then decided to look for a new roofer and found that Eclipse Roofing had a very high rating in Homestars. We met Eduart and found him to be thoroughly responsible and professional. Having been burned so badly by our prior roofer, we drilled Eduart over every detail of the job. Regardless, he patiently and politely answered all of our questions. His office assistant, Rachael, was wonderful. She was extremely helpful and basically held our hand throughout the project. The work was completed on time. The premises were left spotless. We have a beautiful roof and no more leakage. THANK YOU SO MUCH EDUART AND RACHAEL!
