The original double hung window was installed approx. 1 year ago. With changes in temperature outside vs inside, we noticed that one of panes of the window had accumulated moisture between the insulated glass sheets... which demonstrated that the seal was broken. We reported it and asked for a replacement... but was surprised that though the window itself was under warranty, there was a labour charge to replace it. My understandings of warranties says that labour and materials should have been all under warranty.

We had an energy audit done, pointing out deficiencies in the attic insulation and un-insulated basement exterior walls. The initial consultation from J&J was very thorough, explaining the the nuances of the job both for the attic and basement. We settled on blown fiberglass for topping up the attic insulation, including protecting the venting. In the basement, the lower third of the basement walls were just bare concrete. For the exterior facing walls, we went with a fiberglass wrap which comes with its own vapour barrier. The fiberglass was chosen in both situations because the latest version of fiberglass is non-itchy and doesn't provoke a reaction... and it is relatively dust-free compared to blown cellulose. The guys did a macro-job of cleaning, removing large pieces... however they could have done a better job of micro-cleaning with a vacuum cleaner or such... my wife and I had to do our own vacuuming and swiffering in all the rooms they worked in.

We had a house side door, a garage side door and some aluminum trim to replace. From the initial consultation thru to the final install, everything went smoothly and excellent quality work. We would have given a 10/10 if they would have provided a selection of locks, instead of us having to purchase them separately ourselves from another supplier. We didn’t have the right spec for the lock dimensions so we had to make a couple of trips to another supplier.

They were prompt on coming to our house to assess the project that we had in mind. We needed a railing around our hew deck and another one going down a new stairwell. We discussed various options and designs, and then within two weeks, they came back with final design specs and confirmed measurements. Again, with the next 4 weeks, the railings were produced and they came to install them. The final installation looks lovely.

Let me start by saying that we’ve had 2 other renovations within the last 3 years on other parts of our house by popular companies, and both were ‘disasters’ as far as communications with ourselves and other trades, shoddy workmanship that required trades people to come back and redo their work, sometimes up to 3 times! So we had very high anxiety levels going into this next project. Our latest project was somewhat massive… Our house is a side-split level. Our original kitchen was approx. 10’x12’ and was 4 feet above ground level with a basement room under that. We wanted to double the kitchen size by extending it further into the backyard. So as not to have a wasted space under the new kitchen addition, we decided to also extend the basement. There were 3 major contractors involved… excavation and foundations/concrete, sunroom (Four Seasons) and overall internal kitchen finishing. Four Seasons was responsible for the overall planning, engineering design work and City approvals for both the excavation/foundations as well as the sunroom. Four Seasons built our sunroom on top of the concrete foundation, and interfaced the older section of the previous kitchen. Four Seasons heard our complaints about our previous renovations, and reassured us that this time if we went with them, it would not be a disaster. From the sales presentation through to final completion, including working with the other companies’ trades people, Four Seasons staff were excellent in communication and worked well with all parties, especially in the areas of the jobs that overlapped for each contractor…. and the quality of their workmanship was excellent, with minimal aggravation on our part. If there were issues, they were resolved enthusiastically and in reasonable time frames. Matt Thomas did a thorough and credible job explaining why the Four Seasons products were better than various competitors… especially the thermal resistance of the windows. He answered our questions plus gave us more questions for consideration that we should be asking, to ensure we were educated. Matt Jacewicz and Chris Ionescu did their magic in the sunroom project co-ordination, showing up on site regularly to interface with their crews and those of the other contractors. The job was well done and we would highly recommend Four Seasons Sunrooms. Brian and Emily Korson - Thornhill, Ontario
