They are part of Titan Furniture & Flooring, 3250 Ridgeway Dr. 905-608-0634. We agreed on a start date the first week of October. We didn't find out until the day before that they changed the start date to the following week because they had taken on another job in the meantime. The job entailed installing & staining hardwood stairs and installing hardwood flooring and trim in the upstairs hallway. We had already removed all the carpet, underpad and nail strips on the 13 stairs, refinished the pickets & handrail, and painted the new risers. We supplied the flooring, they supplied the treads, risers, nosing, threshold strips and underpad. We were assured several times that the whole job would be completed in 1 day. The finishing is very rough. There are many places where the flooring was poorly cut so that there are gaps between the floor and the trim. The joints on the trim does not fit together well (there are gaps). They even had to remove part of the trim because it made no sense how they had extended it out so far - and they have left the wall there damaged. Many of the pickets do not go flat to the floor. The installers put nicks and dents in the new stairs that were not there before they were installed. They cut away our post and had to replace it and ended up staining it a different colour from the stairs and leaving it really rough and unsanded. Of course we had given them 2 samples of the flooring for them to match the stain for the stairs and that was not a good match. One of the pickets has not been re-attached. They have left a big blob of some sort of adhesive stuck in the middle of our front porch. Many, many items have been left poorly finished. Jason, the general contractor, is amicable and tries to get the things done. Unfortunately, things are constantly postponed and his subcontractors do not seem to care about doing a good job. They have stopped responding although they have reassured us that they would fix everything up. All of these things can be fixed, but they haven't done it. Actions speak louder than words. It is now nearing the end of January - 4 months later, and we are still waiting for them to properly finish the job. We feel we have been more than patient. At this point, we cannot recommend them.

Tom does quality work for a very fair price. He arrives on time and sticks to the budget and timeline - no surprises. Tom is trustworthy and is the best contractor we have ever used. He works with you to give you what you want. He did our main bathroom for us. We were so happy with his work, we then hired him to do our master ensuite, and then work in our kitchen, and he is just finishing up refacing our fireplace and installing hardwood on our entire main floor. Extremely happy with his work and highly recommend him. He is the only contractor we will use.

We bought a house where the homeowner thought he was a do-it-yourselfer. He had added a powder room in the basement himself and "finished" the basement. It was obvious that he didn't know what he was doing. There were no interior walls, and no space to add drywall between the fixtures ant the wall framing. The walls were slanted, and there wasn't a proper door. Other basement walls were finished with particle board, wafer board, or whatever the homeowner could get his hands on for free. It was terrible! Peter came in and gave me a very reasonable quote. Several other contractors wanted to charge me by the hour, or wouldn't even give a quote because of the work involved. Peter and Jordan did a great job. They included many small extras when they came across them. It took them longer than originally planned, but that was because they came across plumbing that was cracked and incorrectly repaired. They fixed all the walls inside the bathroom and in other parts of the basement, did ceramic flooring, plumbing fixtures, doors, and more. Peter makes sure things are done right. He's a man of integrity and he'll look after you.

I bought a house that had a rental water heater from Direct Energy. It needed replacing and I decided to go with a different company. They followed the usual procedure of removing the previous water heater when they installed the new one and returned the old one to Direct Energy's depot. They got a Returned receipt from Direct Energy. Direct Energy continued to bill me for 10 months for a water heater that I didn't have. When I first phoned them about it, they said we had never even had one of their water heaters at that address. The funny thing is Direct Energy had originally sent over a repair man who told me I needed a new water heater. I had ordered from them but they lost that order and couldn't track it down, so I went elsewhere. They first sent my inquiries to all their different departments - no-one wanted to take responsibility or action. We sent them the returned receipt 3 times and had to go up to their "Executive Office" to resolve it. They kept telling us it would be 10 days, but it still took months and months. They can't look after a common place process like this more quickly than that! I will never deal with them again.
