New Construction Duct Cleaning, Must Read Story!
Paul is so the man ..... what a guy !!!! I have recently had the worst 5 months of my life after buying an old home, striping it completely down to the brink and then rebuilding it. Along the way my wife and I got ripped off buy our contractor and had to bring in a new one to fix the structural damage he had caused to our home. We found an amazing HVAC company to do remove the rad's and install ducts for forced air and heating at a great price with super work and that used drawings. The company said it was not a must but would maybe recommend to have the ducts cleaned before starting up the furnace. They said that because the HVAC was not put into the house until close to the end of the reno they probably would not need them but said if we want to have them done, do it. They did not make any recommendations for a company to use as they say its not their end of the business which I respect them for saying. I started making calls and got some quotes over the phone. I ended up getting Paul on the line one morning at 8:30am and he told me that he had just finished a job, was going back to the office that day to get caught up on some paperwork and would stop by and get me all set up as the cold was just upon us and my 8month pregnant wife needed heat in our 95% finished house. He was in the north end of the city, north of the 407 and I'm close to St Clair and Oakwood. Paul showed up on time, did a close inspection of my entire house and came back to me with the following news ..... "Your ducts are clean, clean as they can be and they don't need my services" I was shocked and said this cant be right and he said again "Do you have a shop vac?" "Yes" I responded and he said "Good, get it out later on today, stick the hose down the vent, clean out the debris and start up your brand new 75,000 BTU furnace" How was this possible you ask, the guy drives from an appointment in Newmarket, inspects my house and then tells me he does not want my money and he will come back next year to clean out my furnace, You see this is what a good trade and all trades should be like. Its not about getting your money upfront but rather getting your money for the long haul which is what Paul did with me. My car mechanic is like that .... my breaks squeak, I take my car in and he says listen "You have squeaky breaks, they're almost at the end of their life but super safe and good for another 6 to 8 months, save your money and come back then and I will fix them. I have been using the same guy for the past 11 years on all my cars when out of warranty and will keep using them and thats the way I feel about Paul and his amazing company. Thanks again, Stephen PS.... My house was super warm that week and hope you had a good lunch that afternoon.
