When I contacted this company to have them come out to fix my oven I asked if the technician was a certified Jennair technician. They told me he was. He came and said there were 4 electronic panels in the oven and I needed to replace 2 panels. I asked if he could not tell what part was the issue rather then replacing multiple parts and he said NO that there was no way to do this. Replaced both parts. Charged $500 service call still did not work. They took new part with them. Still charged even though they did not fix it, they were not honest about being qualified to service Jennair, and they TOOK the new part with them. Told me I would get a refund.no refund and person in charge on vacation now for 2+ weeks. Also, interestingly, my credit card company has then listed as a different company on their billing..this company is NOT legitimate. Do not use. Had another company in and they told them what happened and they said the other company is not legitimate they are NOT Jennair certified technicians. The exact issue was listed on the digital fault warning on the oven with what exactly was the issue/had to be replaced and the new company saw it immediately.. So this company were dishonest about their certificate, replaced the wrong parts and then took the brand new part back and told me I would get a refund. I have contacted the company 3 times and no refund/resolution is forthcoming. No refund has been provided.

Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed in multiple aspects of my experience with Square Footage Inc. The kitchen design was not to my taste....too ‘country’ with coloured cabinetry and knotty pine hardwood (when I like white cabinetry and have classic taste). A design that was also not workable - according to both an engineer and an architect in addition to my general contractor (the structural changes to remove walls in the kitchen and not adequate room for the kitchen island) - so I also paid for a design that was useless. I was clear about my budget for their portion of the project and they completely ignored it (wanted almost 50% of what I had budgeted for the entire house - 2 floors and a basement/4500 square feet - for just the two rooms they were asked to do - the master bathroom and kitchen) and they were not even doing the electrical or plumbing for those rooms. For the 2 rooms they quoted almost $150,000 despite being told my funds for renovating the entire house was $300,000 (I was VERY clear about this throughout the process and very clear that they were only being asked to design and build the 2 rooms. (And for those who have limited or no experience with renovation costs (like I did) I can also say that for their estimated cost of just redoing the master bathroom at almost $75,000, I was able to have beautiful custom cabinets made and installed in 6 bathrooms, a basement bar area and a huge kitchen, in addition to 3 fireplace surrounds and a giant built in..) They were NEVER asked to be involved in the whole house renovation as I had already secured a general contractor for that and knew that I needed to be careful with costs to stay within my overall budget). They collected their deposit (more than 1/3 in cash) all of which ended up being nonrefundable (although that was never discussed) immediately before providing me with their estimates which as noted above were astronomical, and the finishes, which, again, were almost the exact opposite of my taste. In the end I paid $14,000 for 2 designs that were not used and they did not do a single thing to my house. Even, given the serious issues that arose, I would have understood them wanting some payment for their time making the 2 designs but to keep the entire deposit of $14,000 especially given the designs were not acceptable (and not safe based on an engineer and architect), is ridiculous. It’s a shame because I think some of their work is beautiful but they seriously underdelivered in all areas in this case and I feel like I have been taken advantage of. I have actually held off making this review for some time in the hopes that we would be able to come up with a fair compromise - even considering using those funds for a future project with some misgivings on my part but better that then losing that kind of money - but they have been clear they have no intention of budging in any way. I am a busy single mother with 3 children and do not have money like this to waste. Regardless of whatever they say when they respond to this review - I have emails that confirm everything that I am stating in this review - including the basic engineering design issues as noted by the other professionals that came in, my overall budget and the scope of work they were asked to do. Really this review is just to forewarn potential clients and encourage you to do your homework. Be very clear with your budget and expectations.....but also get a written estimate from them before paying a deposit as they did not respect my budget.

My AC was making a VERY loud noise when started this year....was installed more than 5 years ago by this company and this had not been an issue before. The owner did not come, it was the man that works for them. He told me that the AC was installed incorrectly.....attached to the house instead of on a cement pad and that is why it was so loud. I told him it was installed by their company (the owner) and that he had recommended to do it that way (the old one was on a cement pad) and it cost me extra to have it done. He did not make any response to this or address this in any way. He said he serviced the AC and placed 4 dampers on the outside to see if that helped and changed the filter. He literally wandered around my house for more than an hour. He disappeared and I had no idea where he went and then he would reappear. He asked me multiple personal questions that had nothing to do with why he was there, and I was made to feel very uncomfortable. I am a single parent and live alone with my children. I did jot have a good feeling while he was there. He presented me with the bill which I thought was high for what was done but offered to pay with my VISA card. He said they didn’t accept credit cards and I could contact the owner’s wife for payment. By the next day there was water in the floor of my basement in the room with the AC. I wanted to speak with the owner’s wife about my bill, the leak which stated immediately after their worker was in and I wanted to notify her of my experience with her worker because I feel she needed to be aware of st least what my experience had been. I didn’t want to leave any of this in a message and it took a while for us to connect. It was probably a few weeks. When I called her she was quite abrupt initially and aggressive (at the time I had no idea that she had apparently left me a message threatening to take me to court to pay the bill....that I had offered to pay the day of the service with my credit card!).....but I told her if the issues regarding the service call....the overall cost....which I told her I had no problem paying but that the AC had immediately started to leak by the next day and I felt that they needed to come back out and have a look at it....and my concerns as a single female living alone with the behaviour of their worker. In the end I felt pretty good about the call. I had thought that she had listened to me and understood where I was coming from. I told her I did not want their worker to be sent out to my house ever again....and I specifically asked that he not be told about my concerns because of privacy and safety reasons. She told me she would have her husband out the following week to take a look at the leak. I was quite disappointed because, despite paying her for a call that led to a leaking AC and a very uncomfortable visit for me, I have never heard from them again. They still haven’t been out to look at the AC they installed and serviced the day before it began to leak, and I have not heard from them or received a call back. This is bad enough, but the discomfort I experienced with the invasive questioning by their hired man and his actions the day of the service, is the real reason I am writing this review. Hopefully I am the only one to experience this or will ever experience this....as the owner’s wife stated....however my experience was real and I felt I needed to pass it on to the owner and ensure that it was out in a public forum as an added safety measure.
