Doing the right thing by the customer - siding review
We hired Consumer's choice to do the siding on our detached home. They offered full visibility to a realistic timeline to get the job done. We had initially chosen this company to do our siding on the strength of the customer service reviews. Being that we are NOT handy people, nor do we truly have a lot of experience in the matter of siding / capping etc... We needed someone we could trust to put the siding up. They arrived promptly and started putting the siding up while my wife and I were away at work. Unfortunately, when we returned home, we noticed the siding was not the color we had committed to. We feared the fight ahead, if this was the tone they were setting at the start of the job... A few emails later, we had identified the misfire in communication, Consumer's choice took full accountability of the issue and removed the incorrect siding, putting up the new siding without complaints. As they say, stuff happens, this was an expensive mistake for them to absorb (as well they should) but there were no complaints or friction in the process, the installers were understanding as was the customer service team. When it came time to pay for the installation (an agreed upon credit card purchase over the course of the installation in installments), they unfortunately charged the full amount to our credit card, resulting in a fee from our banking institution for going over our available limit. We brought this to their attention and without complaint, we received a cheque in the mail in the full amount of the fee from the bank. As for a finished product, we love our siding, the quality is apparent in their work. When mistakes happened, they were met with true customer service and ownership and they ensured we finished our transaction satisfied.
