Our 20 years old furnace start giving me trouble in the middle of the night. It was turning on and off in every 5-6 minutes, failing to maintain the temperature, resulting in a cold house. I was in a terrible situation as I have a small baby, my husband was out of town and I had no heat in the middle of night. Out of desperation, I started looking for different companies to contact late at night. As I had anticipated, I did not have my phone answered from most of the companies I called. There were one or two companies which answered the phone and it felt as if I had woken some one up from their sleep. The price they were asking for ONLY visiting after hour and late night service was really high and I was not able to afford it. When I called Cosmopolitan Mechanical, my phone was answered immediately. The gentleman who answered the call was really friendly and understanding. He told me that they have 24 hour services but before he would send someone over, he asked me a list of questions. As I do not have any technical knowledge of this sort and my husband is the one who takes care of all the maintenance of house hold equipment, he was really patient with me. He first asked me to check on my thermostat battery, when I checked it was fine, Then he asked me to go in the furnace room and pull-out the filter to check its condition. I found the filter to be very very dirty and it seemed that my husband had not replaced it in a while. Fortunately I had a spare filter so I replaced the old one. He asked me to turn off the furnace switch for one minute and turn it back on. When I turn the switch on my furnace started working non stop till it reached the temperature set on the thermostat. I had a warm house for myself and my baby. He told me to call them back again if I encounter any further problems so that he can send a technician first thing in the morning. My furnace has not stopped working since then. They solved my problem over the phone and saved me a lot of money. I am thankful to cosmopolitan Mechanical from bottom of my heart. It is hard to find such honest service in today’s date. We will be replacing our furnace very soon and there is no question that only Cosmopolitan will be the one doing this work for us. Thank you very much Cosmoplitan Mechanical and please do not stop the good work you guys are doing. I will recommend you guys to every one I know! Debra.
