T in Brampton

This is the third job that Mike has done for us and were already thinking of a fourth. For this job, he installed several ceiling light fixtures, put up our kitchen backsplash, painted our living room and kitchen and did a total re-do of one of our sons rooms (installed new flooring, painted, put in a ceiling fan, built a desk, assembled furniture). Mike is always pleasant to work with and went out of his way to accommodate the changing needs and requests of our teenager. In fact, he checked in with our son daily while the work was being done to make sure he was ok with it, adjusting to the changing requests and fixing any errors. Our son wanted an extremely minimalist room, and we struggled with the desk design. After several days of discussion and Mike spending some of his own time looking at different materials, Mike and our son came up with a simple, inexpensive design that made them both happy (our son because it was a huge, minimalist desk and Mike because it was functional, safe, secure, sturdily built and made our son happy). Mike is always enthusiastic about the changes were making and we feel like hes just as invested as we are. Hes great to discuss changes with and always has a suggestion if were stuck or have thought of something crazy that just wont work. We are not experts and value Mikes opinions. At the same time, we value the fact that hes willing to say when hes not the expert on something and direct you to someone else. He takes great pride in his work and made sure that we knew what he had done each day so that we could inspect and let him know of any issues. For example, the backsplash tile supplier had provided just enough grout for our backsplash which led to some areas with low grout. When we pointed it out to Mike, he made sure to get more grout and go over the job again, making sure everything was good before he moved to his next job. No arguing, no minimizing just fixing. We would absolutely hire Mike again and always recommend him to friends when they ask if we know anyone who does this type of work.

Rainbow Creator Roofing came to see if they could find a roof leak that had resulted in some bubbling in our en suite ceiling. They were very responsive (they came to the house 2 days after out initial contact) and the roofer did an excellent job, finding a single rusty nail in our attic roof. On the roof, he found some loose shingles which he secured and then did a walkabout to make sure we had no other problems. Both the roofer and Karen were pleasant, easy to work with and efficient and followed all COVID protocols. From the time they entered the house to the time the work was complete and they were on their way was less than an hour, only taking up about 15 minutes of my time, which I appreciated as well.

Michael was very fast and efficient with the repairs (first meeting Monday, work completed by Wednesday), and was a pleasure to work with. He honestly cared that the job was done properly and upgraded our fans because he knew I'd prefer it. His prices are very reasonable and he really helped me out by pre-purchasing all supplies since I would have had no idea what to buy (these were paid separately and are not included in the cost shown). I asked about another "nice to have" repair but, although it seemed simple, he cautioned that it could result in a very expensive repair bill if it didn't go the way I hoped. I appreciated his honesty and we went ahead with a mitigation instead. Before Michael left the house, I had already spoken to him about more work that I'd like him to do and grabbed business cards for friends and family who I know are looking for a handyman too. We will definitely have him back.
