After researching and obtaining a number of quotes we landed on Stoneworks Plus and have no regrets. We had a plan sketched out and this was all Gerald and team needed to work with. His interpretation and execution of the plan are testament to the number of projects he has done and experience he brings to the table. Gerald is also hands on - something we were looking for. As a result he knew what would and wouldn't work. Once Gerald and team were lined up to start our project, the effort went relatively quick. Gerald and team were punctual and made sure everything was right. Once the work was complete, we were pleasantly surprised at the final price. Gerald also came back a year later to correct a small issues that only showed after a long settling time. We will be looking to use Stoneworks when we get around to doing our front porch and walkway.
This is a top-notch roofing company. We were interested not only having our roof done, but were looking for quality products and workmanship. We plan on staying at our house for a long time, so doing a typical cheap 'replacement' job was not what we were looking for. We had a lot of questions and Jan provided all the answers we needed. We liked their approach to 'doing it right' and selected the GAF Timberline HD product. Jan took the time to explain what they do, the products that they use, etc. We also wanted ridge venting, and it was clear that these guys knew what they were doing. They were not the lowest priced quote, and nor were they the highest. When it came time to do the work, there were a few delays (mostly due to rain), but they performed the work as we expected. We were also critical on protecting the house, tarping the lawn/nail cleanup) and the dumpster. There are some things that customers overlook (eg- their dumpster is on wheels, and they have their own dumpsters (not a contracted service) so you dont have to worry about having your driveway gouged). Having kids that play on the lawn a lot, we were very particular about nails. After day 1, I found 20+ nails on the lawn. After the install was done, I found another 20+. They did use the mag roller to clean up, but, although we understand it is hard to get them all, this is something that could have had more attention. However, Peter was quick to respond and come out to roll the lawn himself. I expected to go out and search myself anyway. If you are looking for a quality roof, by a company that has a skilled team, for a descent price, I recommend these guys. Would use them again.
Bought HW from them a few years ago. Choose the Signature Plus level as we wanted a top quality consistent wood as this was important to us. Also confirmed our expectations (with the sales rep) of the quality against the sample we were shown. When we got down to installing the wood, there were numerous pieces (approx 15%) per box) that had milky white textures in them. Called them and got the run-around. Typical response of a company that does not care about after-sales service. Only after going to the store and demanding to talk to someone did I get some assistance. They had me contact St Lawrence directly to deal with the problem. Kudo's to St Lawrence as they made things right, came out to inspect, and replaced the bad pieces. Bram HW, did not take any time to do a follow-up and showed a lack of concern for our satisfaction. If you have no other choice but to buy from these guys, make sure you get all your wood in one run (dont split), and inspect it when picking it up/having it dropped off. BTW, when picking up your wood, take a picnic, as the guys in the back are slow as molassis (and this was when there were no other customers waiting...) They work to their own timeclock it seems... The only positive thing I will say is that they have descent pricing. However, it is unfortunate that it appears the company knows this and thinks/acts like they are doing you a favour by selling you hardwood. They should rename the place to Mc Brampton Hardwood.
We are pleased that the manufacturer, St. Lawrence Hardwood Floors, quickly took care of your concerns. As a retailer, production issues are not in our control and we therefore are unable to send our own employees to provide service. However, we do ensure that all manufacturers we deal with are readily available to satisfy our customers needs (as was clearly the case here). After 25-years in business and about thirty thousand happy, satisfied customers per year, our after-sales service speaks for itself.
We are sorry that you felt that the pick-up went too slowly, Dave. However, in order to be your one-stop flooring store we keep a huge amount of varied inventory in stock and it is sometimes necessary for our order pickers to move quite a bit of product around to get to the needed flooring. We always work hard to get you loaded and on your way as soon as possible, but slight delays are inevitable when dealing with inventory volumes as high as ours. The alternative would be having to order product in like many other retailers. The resulting wait would obviously be much longer, and a return trip would be required. Thats not our way. We appreciate that our customer's time is valuable and want their purchases to be quick and easy.
We side onto a forest and have had carpinter ants living on our outside wall / under windows since we moved in. Water damage provided a nice damp home for them there. Called Waheed, came down next day. Asked a few questions, and was powdering this and that. Next day, we only saw two ants (both had gotten in the powder and bit the dust shortly afterwards - pun intended). Have not seen the ants since (4 months now). It is also important to note that we had fixed the water damage area ourselves. You will never get rid of pests like this if you provide them a nice damp warm home to live in... Five stars for Pesticon. Job well done, and price was very reasonable.
