I called the Handyman connection because they have lower prices to fix minor projects. I knew I had to replace my bathroom faucet so I bought a new one at Rona Lansing. Called Handyman Connection and made an appointment. Received a call the day he was to come and he said that he was having car problems and had to come another day. Called the office back and made another appointment. A man finally came and he was quite efficient in getting the bathroom faucet replaced and working fine. It has not leaked since then so he did a good job. Also, looked at my kitchen faucet and replaced the washers so it would not drip. They have fairly standard rates for projects and he charged me for only the bathroom faucet replacement. Their rates are reasonable and he was efficient in doing it. They seem to use retired people so you get an experienced person. They also do it as side work so they probably work for less than the normal rates. I was put off by the original failure to show but they seemed to follow through. I would recommend it for more minor projects. I think it is better than going through the handyman through the papers and the big plumbing companies are very experience for smaller projects.

I completely replaced all my wall to wall carpets. Home Depot had a great promotion with free underpad and great price. You can also pay it in 6 months with their credit card. The price is great on a couple of styes/colours in stock. They came and measured my place and the cost for it is applied to my order. The installation is outsourced. The installer was late and his assistant was sick. I had to help him with the carpet. When he put down part of the carpet he noticed the pattern did not match. He brought back carpet and I had to deal with store. After a while, I was able to get a better carpet without pattern for the same price. Had to live on concrete floors until new carpet was installed. Store called later and wanted me to pay higher price. After some time agreed to not charge extra due to problems. Carpet is well installed and good quality. Hassle in getting carpet installed was big problem but no one had a better price. Had to call them once to stretch carpet but they did it without cost.
