I highly recommend Capital Appliance Repair (CAR). Our fridge went down. I called CAR and was promised next day repair, but if an opening became available that day they would call me. Well, i was very pleased to get the call a short time later that a service man would be by between 3 and 6 that day. In fact, the serviceman showed at very soon after 3. He explained everything up front. The cost. The likely problem and associated costs with each. Lucky for us it was the least expensive part that had failed. It only took him about 3/4 of an hour and he was done and cleaning up. I'll admit it was expensive but worth it to have our fridge back.

We had estimates from most all of the do it all stores and found they pad there estimates. One even inadvertently sent us a spreadsheet that had a their mark ups. So we decided to contract our own plumber and glass installation. I had spoke with Jim on the phone a number of times before giving him the job. He always had time for me. Installation was as promised. And when he found that one of the bath walls did not get a post to support one of the glass walls he offered to come back if there were issues. There were and he returned and quickly adjusted the glass - no charge. Whether it was normal settling or otherwise Jim was always open to provide a solution. Thanks JIm

We had a small job replacing a corner shower stall. We shopped the major bathroom stores in our area and learned as we went along. To my knowledge none of them used licensed plumbers – image the insurance consequences. The plumber that built the homes in our subdivision suggested we consider (composite) granite and we were able source the product in Kingston – Grants. I called them and asked for his customer list for my area and started calling the ones I hadn’t already spoken with. I called Matthew Huntley (Huntley Plumbing and Heating) who agreed to visit and discuss our options. Matthew Huntley, a licensed plumber, was very courteous and the fixtures/products he suggested happened to be on our wish list - bonus. We visited the plumbing supply shop where he has an account and picked out our fixtures, shower base and wall colors. Matthew worked with our schedule for the job. He did the work over one weekend (Fri – Monday) so that we weren’t living in a construction zone for any length of time. He always called before visiting on the weekend. He finished the job when he promised, on budget, and left the sight clean. He even patched a gap in the flooring tile – which wasn’t in the contract. We highly recommend Matthew and his team of professionals.
