Burke's provided an estimate for Tarion to remedy the problems left by the builder. It was apparently not high enough for them to do the work. They accepted the project reluctantly, and took a 50% deposit but were not doing anything for almost a year. They attempted one aspect of the project, the installation of the shower floor with disastrous results: the epoxy grout was foaming and washing away, and the drain cover was jammed into the wet grout so that the drain is not accessible to a plumber. They eventually abandoned the project, after about one year, leaving me with more expenses than the builder did, and leaving my bathroom in this condition for about 8 months, still unusable today. All the attempts to convince them to take the responsibility for their work and respect the contract have failed. This is the final response from the owner: "This client will never be satisfied and if these complaints persist, Burke's Restoration will seek legal counsel and options. We will not be completing any further repairs. We have done everything to retify the situation but the homeonwer will not move on to another contractor. " Wow! This is what my bathroom looks like after Burke's worked on it for almost a year. This is how they left it. Burke's is refusing to take responsibility for their work, engaging in "blame the customer" behavior, and ignoring the fact that their workmanship did not comply with the manufacturer's instructions.
