Moved into this house last year and found the upkeep by previous owners a bit lacking. Gutters were dirty, clogged and water overflowed. I selected A Glass Act based on Homestars reviews (I found 3 other professionals here and I haven't been wrong with any of them) and Kirby contacted me, requested a few photos of the gutters, and then provided quotes and options. The job was done soon after with attention to efficiency and tidiness. It rained the next day and I can see the water draining properly, probably for the first time in many years! The price is reasonable for the work and their professionalism is worth it. Definitely will consider them for other external cleaning jobs.

It started with Justin looking over a dripping faucet or two at my previous house, and progressed to a total repiping job (from polybutylene pipes to PEX) at my current house. This is why I keep going back: - Trust Justin to fully explain EVERYTHING; he knows his stuff and is more than happy to make sure you know what he's going to do. He will keep you informed every step of the way. - He will present you with all available options and work with your budget. - He's skilled and competent: he will not fob you off with inferior workmanship and waste your time. "Bringing Customer Service Back to Plumbing" is not an empty boast by Justin; you can count on timely communications, professionalism and that willingness to go the extra mile. I don't doubt there are other plumbers out there who can "do the job", but Justin is definitely steps above the rest. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

ahhh, Thanks Karen... I think you have made me blush while reading a review, for the first time. I really appreciate you taking the time to write a review, it means a lot to me. You are a wonderful person and I am just happy to be able to help and make everything as easy and smooth as I can. I believe that when someone calls a plumber it is already a stressful situation for them, and we like to do what we can to help ease that stress and make things as simple and understandable as possible. thanks again for the review Karen, have a great day.

Having just moved into a house with vents looking none too clean (and I have dust allergies and asthma to boot), I decided to get someone in to clean them ASAP. I settled on Modern Purair though in the back of my mind, I thought these companies are probably "all the same". I requested an estimate via their website, and received an email reply within the hour. When I had an additional question, a nice lady named Hollie called me right away. Impressed, I booked an appointment and waited to see if the trend would continue. On the day of cleaning, Luke, the technician, was stuck in traffic (if you live in Metro Vancouver, you'd know how horrific the traffic can be), but he did call me to let me know. In any case he arrived just a bit later than the original time and immediately got down to business. He was courteous, professional, and explained exactly what he's going to do. For my house the job took just over 2 hours and it might be purely psychological, but I swear I was breathing easier afterwards. 2 days later I received a follow-up phone call from them just to make sure I was happy with everything. Perhaps anyone can do duct cleaning, but Modern Purair sure knows customer service on top of that.

In my quest to buy an older home in a good neighbourhood I've long hoped to move into, I knew I needed an inspector who would give me the straight goods: no BS, thorough, knowledgeable, and completely on my side. I found all these qualities and more in Ted. We spent 6 hours in the house I offered on, checking every nook and cranny. Ted calmly explained everything in layman's terms, offering suggestions and solutions along the way. The next day, Ted delivered his custom report and sat down with me for couple more hours to go over it in detail. Now his report (sample available on his website) may look "homemade", but I assure you it's worth its weight in gold. I do not believe Ted's here to "pass" or "fail" the house; rather, he makes sure you have everything you need to make an INFORMED decision by laying out the pros and cons of the house in a matter-of-fact way. You will not find hysterics and scare tactics here. In my case, because I'm not afraid to do some work, I proceeded with the purchase of the house but was able to negotiate some price reduction, armed with Ted's findings. Now that I've moved into the house and have begun doing repairs and upgrades, Ted's report continues to serve as an invaluable guide for me to plan and budget based on priority. No one should skimp on home inspection when you're dealing with what easily can be the biggest financial investment of your life (especially in the Metro Vancouver area!), and I wholeheartedly recommend Ted to anyone who agrees.

Karen, thanks for your rather comprehensive endorsement.
When you get to those larger projects contact me, as you can appreciate; I can't spell out all your repair options in a report.
Thanks,Ted
