I initially wanted to redo the kitchen in my basement, and considered three options: (1) custom kitchen; (2) refacing; (3) modular kitchen. I'll walk you through each, so you know where to go, and hopefully save yourself some time. (1) too expensive, unless you have a big budget. I was quoted $15k+ (2) honestly doesn't make sense vs. getting a new modular kitchen for the cost. I was quoted $8k+. (3) Designers (from big box store) are good as a start, but they quoted me $10k. Enter: Alex from Kitchen Installation.ca --> he immediately took the designers plan (which I paid $200 for and was reimbursed at the store) and stated why it was too expensive, because they were customizing every cabinet for a small area with a bulkhead. He suggested alternative to reduce the installation cost (and even the materials cost). With the kitchen event (20% off #protip) the entire kitchen costed me around $6k (including a laminate countertop + installation). Note the above quotes didn't include any countertop or installation of one. I would recommend Alex to anyone looking to do a kitchen. He provides truly excellent customer service, and delivers on his promise. Another great company with great work ethic and integrity. Thank you!!

Sunline Roofing is the best-kept secret in residential roofing. They focus more on commercial and builder projects, but I was lucky enough to stumble upon them organically. They don't market to the residential crowd, but they did an amazing job for my roof. Not only was the installation right, using Landmark CertainTeed shingles and underlayment, the price was also very reasonable. It's not the cheapest (not something I would recommend anyway) but definitely the best value for what you get. I've talked to about 5 different roofers before choosing them, and did adequate research, and was not disappointed. Would definitely recommend Juan (owner) and dealing with them for residential roofing. Good support post-installation too... I had them come in and fix a minor detail, which was more aesthetic in nature anyway. A++

I got Mr. Roof Repair to come have a look at my aged roof to confirm it's health, as I just moved in 6 months ago. The report is well worth the money... I also had a few shingles that were missing so got them to put those on for me while here as well. Very fair, and recommended.

Steve is great at what he does... I'm more than impressed at his attention to detail. I can tell he really cares to get the job done properly (for his own satisfaction). There are very few people that take their work this seriously, but Steve is one of them. He took more than enough time to fix the problem I had with just putting the cable back on. He calibrated the garage door to make sure it was adjusted according to the springs and door; Also sprayed rust proof and sanded down parts to make the door operate much better than it was before. I don't usually leave reviews (let alone long ones like this), but Steve deserves it. Will use him again, and recommend to all my friends who need garage door work. Wish him the best of success with his business!
