I agree with all the fabulous reviews about this company about Robert going up on the roof sending pictures, offering to take pictures as work was being done, giving lots of time choosing a shingle colour, company having integrity and Tracie warning about getting a roof done in the winter or spring etc. I really was impressed after reading about reading previous stellar clean-up job the afterwards; was a little disappointed that I didn't experience that, though the debris left to pick up was minor and don't think that Robert knew about. One of my mature shrubs was damaged, and the crew felt like they rushed off to avoid doing a thorough clean-up. I went by these fabulous reviews, and the conversations with Tracie and Robert. In the end, the important thing is that I am satisfied with the new shingled roof looks great. Would definitely go again, but just make sure I get the great clean-up service that everyone else raves about. Update: Last year, summer or fall of 2021 I called regarding some concerns to see if I had any loose tiles after a spring of high winds . As service was under warranty, they sent someone promptly to come check (on a Saturday morning too = hardworking) and did a minor glue/patch to secure a potentially loose tile, NO COST - basically they make good on their roofing/labour warranty :)

First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to write such an honest review. I truly wish you would have contacted me personally so I could have come by immediately and rectified the situation. Where there is no excuse for it, we sometimes over look a few things at the end of such a long and busy day. Please contact the office manager, Tracie-Marie sometime this week so we can reimburse you for your damaged shrub. I know that you can not plant it at this point in time, but we can come to some sort of arrangement to ensure that you are reimbursed properly. Please accept my deepest apologies and we hope to hear from you soon.

Many Issues: Lack of Communication, Disorganization, Overbilling Potential Client Beware of these high homestars, yet limited ratings. You get what you wish to pay for, and they're not even cheap, the present a decent rate. If you have certain areas you wanted untouched mowed and removed, then billed for, then this is the company for you. They also damaged lawn property, a worker whacked their equipment on my lawn chair and cracked it, and smoked on my property. Very unprofessional. There is major lack of communication about the job requests of the client as well as disorganization of invoices, overbilling after work is done, billing for work done that was specifically asked to not do, lack of transparency of time actually billed. I wish I had insisted on a breakdown of time billed in the invoice. If you do get this company, make sure you monitor the hours they show up and the hours billed. The workers take their time doing work that is billed on an hourly basis, have NO respect for personal property, and their attitude is one of entitlement, and do not stay for the work that is billed and then come back and then bill for the unworked hours. To be fair, the workers are stretched and are given malfunctioning equipment. Then the customer is charged for the inefficient use of time while they need to call Nicole the person actually in charge of managing the work, who then needs to call Chris who shows up and just takes away the equipment.. Clients are made to feel that the workers are in charge of the work that the company comes to do for the client. Interestingly, this is not the attitude communicated by Chris, the owner/main salesperson for the company. He projects a inaccurate relaxed confident image of trustworthiness for his company. So the experience ends up being a massive headache in frustration, insult, and constant monitoring of the time and invoices. Even when you've paid for the work, months later they send an invoice causing you to look back at the notes made. Quote rate was initially reasonable, but due to miscommunication, they do and bill for unasked for work, and do not take into account the requests of the customer to do the work. They are DISORGANIZED Work that isn't part of the job work is done and billed for even after Chris, the owner assures it won't be billed. Invoices are billed months after the work was already paid for and invoiced creating more confusion and frustration. On top of that, once Chris makes the sell, you only deal with his part-time receptionist Jen, and the person actually in charge of the work Nicole who needs to learn a thing or two about where the income of the company comes from: the client. Chris, the owner gives a good impression, listens at the time of the sales pitch, overally a nice guy, however the person managing the actual work is Nicole. Big Job - cutting and uprooting large weeds, and weeds in garden bed, pruning garden bed shrubs, turning soil, lawn mowing with certain areas to leave untouched. They don't even complete what is promised. The work they do do - mowing a lawn, weeding, is OK. Overall an experience of headache.

First off, I would like to sincerely apologize to this client that we weren’t able to deliver the service they were expecting. It deeply pains me when we have an unsatisfied client. We usually go to great lengths to prevent this by not promising more than we can deliver. In retrospect, we should not have taken on this job as it was a bit outside of our normal scope of work and the expectations from the client were unclear at best. Although that doesn’t do much for the affected client, we did do our best salvage the situation. We sent out a different crew and invested far more hours than billed. The last communication I have from the client reads "I am very happy with the work that Pablo and Stuart did today, and they did a great job :)”. If the client would like to reach out to us directly at 416-639-1900 ext. 200 I would still be interested in trying to rectify this situation. -Christopher, GM
