After reading the positive reviews he's received on Home Stars, I called Tristan to do a home inspection as a condition of purchase. I was not disappointed! On the phone, Tristan was helpful and professional. In person, he was punctual, patient, knowledgeable, and personable. At the beginning of the process, Tristan took the time to introduce himself properly (to me and to the home owner, who was also there), and tell me all about the home inspection process. He listened to my concerns and answered my questions clearly. He let me follow him around the house while he did his work, and made sure to explain his process as he went. He was very thorough, taking over three hours to inspect every part of the home. He got up on the roof, crawled into the 57 degree attic (sorry, Tristan!), and checked every wall, window, switch, appliance, plug, etc. He took over 400 photos of his findings, and discussed them in detail with me after the fact. His report was phenomenal -- delivered on time, and professional in presentation and helpful in detail. I feel very confident that the house has been thoroughly checked over, and that we now have a comprehensive list of all its problems, from the more significant to the quite minor. I've had home inspections done before, and none have ever been as thorough or professional as the one done by Tristan. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone for this service.

When selling my house, I discovered there were squirrels in my attic; they had chewed through most of the vents in my roof. This was something that needed to be dealt with immediately, or I would lose the sale, and I called Home Service & Repair Specialist in a panic. Lisa was very understanding & helpful on the phone, and Shawn and his guys squeezed me in immediately! They showed up exactly when they said they would, and had the job done very quickly for a very fair price. They made sure there were no squirrels in the attic (and were impressively tolerant of my insistence as an animal-lover that they be very sure on this point!), and then replaced the vents without incident. They explained exactly what they were doing, showed me the old vents and the replacement vents, and were generally very professional. I'd be very happy to use their services again.
