We had home monitoring system for long period of time with another carrier. Staff from SecurTek dealer repeatedly called our home soliciting their service. We agreed to switch our service on month to month basis as it was with the previous carrier since there was no need to install any additional equipment. The technician brought a pre-filled duplicate service agreement. I signed the form with the understanding of month to month service. When the technician gave me the duplicate copy I found that box 36 months is checked. Immediately I pointed it out to the technician. The technician called the office manager who confirmed that they agreed month to month service. I also talked to the office manager who told me that I can correct my copy myself. We bought a new house after 22 months and had to terminate the service. They sent me an invoice charging penalty for 14 months. I trusted them in good faith but they tricked me with modified agreement. Earlier the service was not working properly, which they told me, due to low battery. They told me I have to take out the battery myself and go to their office to get the replacement. It was not easy task to take out the battery from the monitoring system and it was never done. Few other times the system was not working but we never got calls from the monitoring station to inform us about it. Customer service is terrible. Staff is very rude. Service is not reliable.
