Life with cats and carpets. Cats + carpet just don't work together. Well, I tried to go against the nature and I risked putting these two elements in contact. It was an instant match made in heaven. There seems to be a fatal attraction between cat hair and carpets. Once they touch each other, they are inseparable forever. Well, "forever" was reduced to only a few months since I discovered the magic of Alpha Carpets Cleaning. :-) I don't need to say more, really. let's just say that "forever" is a very relative concept. :-)

When you have cats, you can expect that you will renew your furniture quite a few times during your lifetime. Every time that happens, I get very nervous. Too many options out there and finding something that will fit perfectly with the rest of the furniture that you already have and do not want to exchange is quite a challenge. Well, the McBurney Junction Furniture solved the problem for me. I showed them a picture of my apartment and they gave me a suggestion that I fell in love with instantly. It was that simple. :-) Well... my journey was much longer than this, but this is the short version of the story. It contains all the important details. :-) Great people and great selection of items.

We found the best kitchen sink here. Great design and good price. The staff was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. We left the store super educated and knowing exactly what we had to do next. It was a beautiful experience and we highly recommend this company.

You don't need to save money in order to shop at this store. They have simply the most amazing collection of tealight holders that I have ever seen. I got for myself the white lotus and the white rose ones. I could not decide which one to go with. :-) I am happy with this store and with my experience there.

Mirrors are there to remind you how you look like. :-) Also, they are there to help you correct what you see on the other side of the mirror. Well, that was what I thought before stepping into this store. After, I found out about other possible usage for mirrors: they add space to your house, they reflect light, they decorate, they add brightness and a sense of 3D to a flat look. I am sure most people know what I am talking about. :-) Thank you for all the knowledge you shared with me and helped me make a right decision.

Light is more than a way to see things more clear or a way to prevent people from stumbling upon the things you forgot to remove from the floor. :-) Lighting changes colors, moods, and creates the atmosphere you need. I succeeded in creating the right atmosphere and mood with the help of Norburn Lighting Centre. Beautiful art pieces and very reasonable prices.

George is an amazing man and I feel fortunate to have found him. My bathroom had one of those pedestal sinks and I wanted to replace it with a nice vanity and sink. A friend of mine recommended George and I called him right away. He came over the same day, looked at the place and gave me an estimate. A few months later I decided it's time to start my small renovation project and I called him again. He helped me carry home from the Home Depot the vanity and the vanity top, he assisted me in buying all the materials I needed, he removed the old sink, installed the new one, corrected some plumbing errors that were in place, and made my bathroom look absolutely gorgeous. George is a hard working man with a very good heart. I would recommend him to anyone interested in a plumbing job. You are in good hands! :-)

I am so happy to have found this store... totally by accident, while driving in that area. I was looking for a long time for a decoration to hand on an empty corner in my living room, and I could not find it anywhere. I gave this store a try and my searching was over. :-) I found this amazing painting representing a beautiful abstract meaningless combination of colors. :-) Now I am looking at it every day and I find new meanings every time I look at it. I realized that the imagination has no limits when we face an image with no predefined definition. Thank you for bringing this painting in my life. :-)

To complement the excellent look of my new kitchen, I went on a shopping spree for a kitchen table. We all know that we have many options when it comes to furniture... which makes it all so hard. But some stores succeed in setting themselves apart from others. Inspiration Furniture is one of them. I only needed on look to know that I am in the right place. Who would have thought that one day I might start cooking and enjoying it? My mother does not believe it, for sure. I don't believe it either. :-)) Well, when you are surrounded by so much beauty, you cannot remain passive and something changes inside. These people know color. I got educated at this store. No need to go into spending hours with studying color theory and other things that are hard to understand by yourself. When you need inspiration for your new home, you don't need to spend tons of money on designers. Just go to decent furniture stores such as this one, and you get everything you need.... and not only what you need, but things that you have never thought you needed. :-) I am happy I discovered this place. It made my bedroom look like out of a magazine. I have sweeter dreams since I made that change in my life. :-) Thank you all.

Painting is not as easy as one might think, especially if you want to do everything by yourself. The color you see in the store on those displays are never the colors that you end up on your walls... or at least that is my experience. :-) Lighting, objects, all affect the color of the walls. Of course, I would not know any of this before the guys at Benjamin Moore opened my mind. With them I made the right decision. It does not mean that the color was not affected by lighting or objects. :-)) It means I put that into equation when I chose it. :-) Happy customer. :-)

I have cats and I have carpet in my house. What does that mean? A lot of work. Every few months I hire the professional services of a cleaning company to deeply clean the carpets in my house and extract the stubborn cat hair that my vacuum refuses to touch. TheOne Carpet Cleaning Services did a great job. They showed up in time, did the job fast and good, and charged me a very reasonable amount of money. So, I know nothing about lighting and I had to design the lighting in my store. At first I just thought that I will buy the fixtures, plug them in, and that's it. End of story. But it's not that easy. After I bought everything I thought I needed, I realized that I don't know what to do with those items. :-) I know, it sounds funny. So I needed an electrician and I found the perfect one through HomeStars actually. Babic Electric saved me and made those items that were just laying on the floors shine. After I finished a "lighting" project in my house and I realized how important good lighting is, I decided to extend my "enlightenment" adventure and apply it to my office, too. So, I went shopping again, knowing that I want to give my office a "home" feel, but still be an office. So I needed the right lights, for both the right atmosphere, the right amount of light, and design. And I found everything I needed at Light the Store. I am very happy about how my project turned out and I would like to thank this store for making it so easy and pleasant for me.

I have never realized how important lighting is. Not any lighting... the right lighting. At West Point Lighting I learned to look at lights, bulbs, shades, shadows, etc. with different eyes. My house just felt incomplete before I walked into that store and there I knew why. I was missing something that I could not define. Furniture does not come in too many colors these days, does it? Or is orange too much to ask for from a chair? :-) I was looking for months to find a pair of orange chairs for my office and I have finally found them. They are very well built of high quality materials and have a very nice design. Most importantly, they are orange, and orange chairs is what I needed here. With he help of the extremely nice frames that I bought from this store I was able to turn some simple pages from an old calendar into paintings that are so beautifully decorating my office space now. When you have a certain color scheme in mind, it is not easy to find matching decorations. So, I took this old calendar with me and asked for help. The result is something that brings a smile on my face. The frames have an antique look and complement perfectly the theme of the prints: violins. Thank you so much for making so beautiful frames available and for being so nice people!

Cats and leather sofas don't necessarily make the best combination. :-) I did not want to throw away the sofas that the cats so skillfully redesigned with their sharp claws, and I was thinking of re-designing them, but this time with sharp needles and nice fabric. Here is where Elite Sofa Design came into play. Everything went perfect, from color and fabric selection to creation and execution. Large selection, knowledgeable and friendly personnel, great atmosphere, good location. I was very happy with my shopping experience at this store. I had to complete an office decoration project and I could not find at Fabric Land everything I needed, so I used HomeStars to help me locate other Fabric Stores in Vancouver. I found Perfect Fabrics and I immediately drove there. They have a very diverse collection of fabrics, some are rare finds and some are quite unique, which you cannot find somewhere else. I would recommend this store o all those who need decoration ideas.

Yes, Rocky rocks! :-) It is Rocky to whom we have to thank for breathing a cleaner air in our office. I am against carpets, but when you rent an office space, sometimes you don't have a choice, but adapt. Part of the adaptation process was maintaining the carpets clean, and Granville Carpet Cleaning helped us with it. No smells, no stains, not dust, no allergies. Thank you! Good job! This place is probably the only office furniture in Vancouver where one can actually find everything for his/her office. The prices are very decent, the quality is very good, the customer service is outstanding, the delivery guys are professional, and the customers are most likely happy. I for sure am a happy customer.

I found here the perfect vase that I needed for my orange home. The most predominant color in my house is orange and I needed a tall orange vase to compliment a corner that was somehow left empty. I found it here and I am very happy. I also found here some of those dry tree branches and those add a natural look to my house. Every time I visit this store I leave with something in my bag. Sometimes is only a tea bag. :-)

I was left with some tops from the furniture I bought from another store and I needed to find some legs and convert those into small tables. I needed something to match the rest of the furniture in the store. Ikea Coquitlam offered me the solution. Not cheap really, $15/leg, but I am happy that I found them. The match perfectly the design of the store. I also bought a nice table top and I attached to it the same kind of legs. My office looks really good now. :-)

Fabricland in West vancouver is a place where you can spend hours and don't feel the passage of time. That is my story. :-) I was looking for some sort of material to create some room dividers for my new office and also for some curtains to cover an area that was not to be shown to the visitors of the office. I found everything I needed at Fabric Land. For the room divider I found a nice plastic based material, a texture very close to that of some table mats, $5/m, and for the curtains I found some really nice ones, made in Turkey, for $12 each. I allocated a much higher budget for this project, but I ended up spending a fraction of it. The employees are very knowledgeable, friendly, and nice.

I could never imagine that shopping for a kitchen table would be so difficult. I am telling you, I know now every furniture store in Vancouver, big or small. I was shopping for a round table to glass top, and I could not find anywhere something that made me fall in love. At Inspiration Furniture I got inspired. :-) Their large showroom is very inviting and it gives you the feel that you are in good hands. They carry a very large selection of furniture and the sales people are very knowledgeable and friendly. Unlike other furniture stores, I did not feel any pressure form the sales people. I found the table with 4 chairs that I was looking for and on top of that I also bought a nice lamp that somehow made a good pair with the table. I am happy with my purchase and with my experience with this store. I will visit again soon and recommend it to my friends. Thank you!

After we painted our walls, we needed a few accessories to improve the look and the feel of our little girl's room. So, we took her shopping. The Favorite Finds deserves its name 100%. My daughter's room was painted in pink and she wanted to have all accessories in different shades of pink. She found a very nice pink lamp in this store, very nice candles in different shapes and sizes, all pink and beautiful, and some very cute multicolored butterflies that made her room look just... very girly. :-)) I would like to thank the stuff in the store for answering so patiently all my daughter's questions... and believe me, she had many. :-) Great store, great customer service, good prices, an very nice products.

House renovation is usually not the most pleasant thing to do. There is usually an immense amount of garbage, dirt and dust that accompany such a project. The painting was the scariest thing for me. But thanks to Delta Paint, whatever seemed a nightmare to me at the beginning, became a very nice art project that involved all my family, kids, and dog. :-)) It's more than paint that I found in this store; I found a way to bring my family together, and get my kids involved in something that made them appreciate better the life they have. They got to pick the colors of the color of their rooms and they got to paint them. Of course, we could have not done all this without the advice and help we got from Delta Paint, and we are grateful for the kindness and the friendship that they offered us all the time.

Mike's team was great. I had a small job of replacing the carpet in my living room with laminate flooring and Mikes was the only one who actually showed an interest in the job. Not only that he showed an interest, but his team did a great job. Fast, clean, precise, careful, and polite. This is how I would describe the people who worked in my house. Good job everyone! I have recently moved to a one bedroom apartment that had carpets in it. Shortly after my move here I developed dust allergies and the carpets proved to be my biggest enemy. I decided immediately to replace them with laminated floors. I started my research on the Internet, and I was lucky enough to find Mike's Carpet and Flooring. I filled in the information in the "Get a quote" form and in less than two hours Mike called me. We scheduled an appointment for the next day. He showed up in time, bringing flooring samples with him. He measured my house, explained me in detail how the work will be done, and gave me a quotation. Not only that the quotation he gave me was very small compared to the others I got from other companies, but after assessing my situation, he offered to help me and gave me a very good price on the laminate, way under the market price. I ended up buying the laminate through Mike, and hired a friend to install it for me. This kept my already limited budget to a very manageable level. One thing is clear about Mike: he treated me like a friend and not like a customer. He gave me very good advice, and honestly, it did not work in his favor. This made me trust him more. I recommend Mike's Carpet and Flooring to all those in need of new floors for their home. If I were to choose three words to describe this business, I would say "honesty, great prices, and great service."
