We own an Arcuri Semi Estate Home. It has had problems since we moved in late in 2014. Paint was peeling from most of the trim on the main and upstairs windows. The drywall on the stairs has shifted and the tape is now buckling and bulging. I had the roof inspected in anticipation of putting solar panels on the house and learned that 22 shingles didn't even have a single nail in them. Can you believe only tar was holding them down? Cost me $1300 to get it fixed by a trustworthy contractor. Our window wells were never filled with the river rock we were supposed to get. Our hot water tank quit working and had to be replaced about 1.5 years into our home ownership. It had a manufacture date of 2010 so NO WARRANTY and was way too full of calcium deposit to have been brand new when Arcuri installed it. (Be on the lookout for this if you work with these guys on your first walk through. Don't accept the key if it is not from the same year you take possession.) The carpet began to ripple within 7 months of us moving in. I've owned many new homes before and two older ones and I've never had to get ripples pulled out by "re-kicking" before. Oh and that cost $150 for 'service' Thanks Macquires Floors for your poor quality installation and product. As the ripples are back and worse than ever - my elderly parents trip on them as does my toddler, we will have to redo the carpet. I have a quote for $6700 for equivalent carpet. I've been told by the folks who are replacing the carpet that the carpet product is "separating" and is defective as well as incorrectly installed. When you call for service, they make promises they don't keep. Sometimes they don't even respond or act like it is your fault. All of the above items are structural in my opinion. Do yourself a favour and keep on looking for a builder who is a perfectionist and takes his work personally. Avoid ARCURI unless you enjoy headaches.
