I am so frustrated with this company. Firstly, our lawn is absolutely covered with weeds. They applied their weed control, which did not help. I called to inform them of this and their response was that they would send someone for another application “when they are in the area”. I asked if that would be within the next week or so, but they do not seem to be in a hurry to send someone back, despite claiming they have put this on “rush” order. It’s been over a week now so I had no choice but to mow the lawn with the weeds. The rep on the phone said when someone finally does show up (not anytime soon), they will only treat weeds which are visible (ie: if I mowed the lawn and the weeds were chopped during that process, they would not take the time to locate those weeds). Secondly, I had underground sprinklers installed last year and mentioned that I was concerned that they would be damaged during the aeration process. They put this in their “notes on my account” and asked me to flag the heads to ensure their safety. The kid they sent to my home was about to begin the aeration process right by one of the sprinkler heads. Thankfully I was home and I rushed out to stop him. He wasn’t even aware of the heads. I asked why he didn’t read the “notes on my account” and he said he “didn’t see that note”. Thirdly, I have gates on both sides of my house to access my backyard. I specifically explained which gate I want used and which gate should never be used. They said they “put notes on my account” so that the gentleman that comes would use the correct gate. He never does. I have literally called this company at least 8-10 times since last year (after every application) to complain that the wrong gate was used. The response I get each time is “we are sorry, we have added new notes to your account”. I don’t understand how many notes need to be added to get your people to use the correct gate. It’s not that complicated. Lastly, there are several patches of dead grass on my front lawn. I have asked for those areas to be treated and their response is “if we can, we will”. That’s not a very comforting response. I had brand new grass and sprinklers installed 2 years ago and was looking for a reliable company to help maintain my investment. I’ve paid over $500 the past 2 years to Hometurf and this will be the last year I use them.

We are glad to hear that you let us know about the weeds and that we have set up a free re-spray for you. Our technicians will still be able to treat the weeds when the lawn is cut. We encourage our customers to continue proper cutting habits as the weed control will still be effective when the weeds are cut as the weed control is absorbed through the leaf of the plant. In regards to the sprinklers we always ask customers with sprinkler systems to mark their sprinkler heads for us and will not complete the application if the sprinkler heads are not marked. As for the gate, that is our mistake and we apologize for that. If you provide us with your address we can look into these matters for you.
