Everyone at Pesticides was very professional and responded quickly to my questions and inquiries. They were able to come by the very next day to spray our place. They were also very sensitive to the nature of the issue. I'm very pleased with the level of service provided.

Lee gave us the dream kitchen we wanted. After giving him our specifications he provided us with a design right away. He also provided a lot of great ideas and custom design options. He was also very upfront about the schedule and told us how long each stage would take. Because of this everything was on time and we were able to plan accordingly. Once everything was done, the kitchen looked great, highly functional and modern. I would recommend Lee to any of my friends redoing their kitchen.

Mei, thank you for this great review. My company aims to provide efficient and friendly service. I work on a very tight schedule in order to meet the deadline; therefore, allowing clients to enjoy their kitchen sooner.

City Home was recommended by our contractor and Cathy gave us a good price. Overall, customer service was excellent and Cathy was always prompt when returning emails. The install itself went by fairly quickly and without issue. The only thing was we noticed minor chips and a scratch after the fact, but in the end we're pretty satisfied.

Working with NewRidge was not bad but far from perfect. We started out booking an appointment through Scott to take measurements and we were impressed with how prompt he was communicating by email. Keen came by to do the actual measurements and he was pretty easy going but professional. After talking to a few different flooring companies we found NewRidge to be competitive in price and they had great reviews. Issues started coming up soon after the work started. On the day we were supposed to start, Keen did not think I would be able to reserve a parking spot for him to place a waste bin across from our townhouse. I had assured him that he would get a space the next day as he originally requested. But because he didn’t believe me, he wanted to leave and start work the next day. It didn’t make a lot of sense to me because it was agreed that the bin would come the second day so he knew he wouldn’t have a bin on the first day. I was getting pretty anxious about it since I had taken time from work to meet him and they had originally agreed to start that day. After seeing that I was getting annoyed Keen and his brother started working. He never booked a bin, even though a spot was reserved for him the next day like I said, so there was really no reason for him to delay starting. It became more difficult communicating too. Whenever we had questions or requests, Scott would defer to Keen. It was a bit frustrating because Keen was not as responsive as Scott. We were originally given an estimate of 2 weeks to finish but it ended up being closer to 4. There were also days when I would come home and it looked like not much was done at all. When they were installing baseboards, Keen texted us that they found some water damage on the drywall underneath our patio door. We told them to leave that area since we planned to replace the drywall that weekend, but there were still other areas that needed baseboard installation. When we came home it looked like they had just stopped at that wall and left, even though we got the text early on in the day. On top of all that, there were some areas where the baseboard installation was sloppy. Nails were sticking out and bent, and there was one piece that was crooked. I’m sure if we raised the issue, they would correct it but after so many weeks with contractors in our home, we just wanted to have our place to ourselves again. There were also other minor annoyances as well. When my husband had planned to patch up some holes, he couldn’t find his putty knife. After searching for a while, we found it with the contractor’s tools, covered in glue. We had to wash it off ourselves and we had told them that we didn’t mind if they use our tools, but to leave them in the same condition and the same place they were found. We also found one of our pens from a hotel we stayed at all scratched up and broken. The pen itself wasn’t worth much, but we didn’t have any pens laying around. This meant they more than likely went into our closet and found it in one of our boxes. Near the end we texted Keen a few times about how to proceed and we weren’t getting a response from him. We decided to send an email with directions and when we still didn’t get a response we forwarded it to Scott to make sure Keen got the email. Keen finally called and seemed irritated that we were contacting him. We were also dismayed to find that he didn’t follow the directions we set out in our email. We were just happy to finally be done. The work was ok, but we felt it could’ve gone a lot better.

Hi Mei,
I'm a little surprised to see a review like this a month after the job was done with no further contact either myself or Keen. Especially since your husband has indicated he was happy with the work and only needed some small touch-ups done which was not an issue at all. Let's review the items discussed in the review:

1) Timing: You had to move furniture multiple times plus we told you we had a job booked in between because it would hold us up if we waited for the furniture moving to commence
2) Small Annoyances not related to the quality of work: Fair enough, I will let Keen know about this but pretty much most clients find him and his team very courteous and respectful of there time and property. Either way something we can always improve on
3) The quality of work itself: Your husband indicated the work was done very well and just wanted some touch-ups done. This was taken care of and confirmed completed.
4) Baseboards seem to be the main/only concern: From my understanding these issues were resolved if not this should have been brought up with me directly which it was not. This was a major floor installation project and it seems the only complaint is in regards to baseboard which is a very minor part of the project. We did recommend spending additional money on quarter round to reduce the gaps but the client did not want to do this. Again, I will bring this up with Keen as we always strive to leave jobs 100% complete with a smile on our customers faces.

I'm not sure why a month later you decide to publicly rant about your unhappiness without contacting myself before it was completed to express your concerns. If you have any further concerns to discuss feel free to contact me directly so we can try and rectify them as we are here to help and make this process smooth and easy for you.

Warmest Regards,
Scott

The electricians from Solutions were prompt and professional. They had done the job within the two-hour minimum and asked if we needed any other work around the house. We had some issue with the switches in our ensuite bathroom and they fixed it up for us and provided us with new switches. I was also having some trouble with the painter we hired at the time so I was very grateful that the electricians were able to work independently and were professional the entire time. I would definitely use their services again.

We had painted most of our house ourselves but there were some hard to reach areas that we decided to hire someone to paint for us. Since Clean Cut Painting had such great reviews we decided to hire them. George came on time and I went through the areas that needed to be painted. He started painting at around 9AM. Since we were paying by the hour and it wasn’t a big job, I made a point to note the time. At around 9:45 AM I noticed he wasn’t around. I looked outside and saw that he was taking a smoke break. It was a bit concerning that he was taking a break so soon but I didn’t say anything. He came back in 15 minutes later. At around 10:30 he had gone outside again. When he came back in another 15 minutes later he said that he was just waiting for the paint to dry so he can go over it again. At this point he had only painted one area and had barely started another. He said that he wasn’t taking a break, just going outside to have a smoke and wash his face and asked if it was ok. I said Fine, but I’d rather everything be done soon. At 11 AM I had noticed I hadn’t heard anything in a while so when I went downstairs to check I saw that he was on the phone outside. When I asked if everything was ok he said that he needed a different step ladder and he’s trying to get one. He said he could go out and buy one which would take an hour or he can come back the next day to finish the job. I was pretty annoyed at this point since he had already left 3 times within 2 hours. I was also annoyed that he wouldn’t check with me first before deciding to stop working and call for a ladder, especially when he hadn't finished painting areas he didn't need a step ladder for. I said he should paint what he can without the ladder and we can talk about the rest later. His boss eventually called and said that they would bring one. Since I had the day off, my husband also booked electricians to come in. They came around 11:30 so after having spoken to them I noticed George was missing again. This time he was tying up his original ladder to his van. This took another 20 minutes. After he was done I saw him smoking in his car, so I went out to call him back to paint. Since my husband booked the painters I told him to call and talk to Clean Cut about the breaks George was taking. I wasn’t planning on tracking time like this but because I was messaging my husband the whole time to keep him updated I have a record of what and when George was painting. At around 12:15 Greg from Clean Cuts showed up with a step ladder and presumably came to talk to George about the breaks he was taking. I later heard George tell him that the job would take another hour. I was getting pretty upset at this point since his breaks pretty much amounted to one hour. After Greg left and George was painting again I was pretty happy that it would be done soon. I went down to check everything out when he was done and George apologized for taking “one 5-minute break”. I told him that it actually was more than 3 breaks and they averaged 15-20 minutes each. He then said to me “This isn’t China. I’m entitled to breaks.” The second he mentioned my ethnicity he crossed the line from unprofessional to just plain offensive. I gave him his money and told him to get out of my house. He complained that he never got water or coffee. Well, if he was painting the whole time, I might have offered some! He kept arguing with me and doubled down on the race remarks by asking if I liked living in Canada and telling me about Canada’s labour laws. I told him that I am Canadian and that he should leave. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had hiring someone to work in our home. I will never use Clean Cut Painting again and I will tell everyone I know not to either. I gave 2 stars because the painting was at least adequate.

Clean Cut Painting and Decorating Corp did everything within our power to resolve this issue with the client. Several follow up calls and emails to book appointments with both parties were not returned. Our Operation Manager purchased flowers, and attempted to arrange a reconciliation in order to deal with any miscommunication that may have transpired with our painter on site that day. At this visit we were prepared to return the $200 paid for this job. To say that "I gave 2 stars because the painting was at least adequate" is very unfortunate to say the least. We have received 149 reviews of our services, and this is certainly an anomaly, especially considering the client's unwillingness to work towards an amicable resolution to this matter.
Thank you!

Michael provided a home inspection on a prospective house for us. We were unable to meet him in person but our realtor, who was there, texted me after the fact and had said he was very thorough and was on site for over two hours. Michael sent us a very detailed report of the inspection on the same day with photos and diagrams of the different areas of the house outlining its issues, potential risks and recommendations. The seller had their own inspection report which was very brief and glossed over several issues. Michael's report gave us a clearer picture of what we were in for. We would definitely use 4Sight Inspections in the future and recommend Michael to our friends.

Thank you so much Mei. It is not often that my client is not at the home so it was good that we had an opportunity to go over the inspection report, section by section, so you have a full understanding of all the findings. It is also not often that the sellers have their own report and it was disheartening to see the lack of detail and the number of things missed in the other inspection report. I am so happy I was able to give you a clear picture of the home so you could make an informed decision. Thank you again and feel free to contact me for anything you need.
