We hired these guys to clean the gutters of the small townhouse complex we live in. They did a decent job and on time and on budget. Can't complain but can't compliment either. Average.
So I know it is not a home renovation story but I had to share my exceptional experience with Kal Tire. I had a flat tire on my car (second in a month) and took the car to Kal Tire at the recommendation of the tow truck driver. They were extremely nice, didn't make me feel like I knew nothing about vehicles, and did the job FOR FREE within a half hour. I was shocked when they handed me the invoice and said it was on them. Good job guys!
We looked around for a dining room table for a while and liked their selection and prices considering it was solid wood. They called to say our table was in within a week of our order. We set up delivery for 2pm and I called the store at 4:15pm and apparently the delivery guys were at the store. They arrived just before 5pm. They set up the table and chairs and took away all garbage. While they were setting the table up the delivery guy received two other phone calls from customers waiting for their funiture to be delivered as they were hours late. Overall good prices, and we are happy with the product so far (we have only had it 2 days). Delivery was awful but it was relatively cheap ($40 cash) and they put the table together.
After much searching we decided to buy from Lane because of their selection and price. We picked out fabric for our couch and chair while at the store. Within a week we were called and they said one of our fabric choices was no longer in stock and that we would have to choose again. So out we went from North Van to Coquitlam with our 7 month old daughter to pick out fabrics. AGAIN they called with a problem with our fabric. I complained to the manager and went to the store the 3rd time. They presented us with a small token gift (approx less than $50 value) and ensured us there would be no more problems. By the time the furniture was ordered it was 3 weeks after our original selection. Furniture was delivered approx 8 weeks later. They made the couch in the WRONG fabric. I immediately called and they tried to convince me that I was wrong. Finally they admitted the mistake and ordered the correct couch that arrived 6 weeks later. When they delivered the second couch the delivery guys scratched my walls and dented my doorway. I was so done dealing with Lane that I couldn't handle calling them again. No recomendation from me!
