So disappointed that we to need to warn others to avoid hiring this company. For context- we have completed 7 renos over 12 years on 3 houses with 2 great contracting teams and had NO issues. We only went with these guys because our long time contractor could not meet our timeline. While many aspects of our reno experience with them was frustrating (due to a number of issues as listed below), the worst is that the reno wont pass inspection!! The kitchen plumbing --they contracted out --was not done to code. The floor and the cabinetry will need to be destroyed in order to fix. CRAZY yes --but even worse is: they won't respond to our requests to come and fix it. Unprofessional at best, fraudulent at worst. Other Issues: -massive 15% increase in price from quote to starting work that they could not / would not explain -every single part of the job except a few tiny framing spaces was done by a third party subcontractor -no one on site to oversee all of the quality of the subcontractor work and since most of the sub contractors didnt speak english we couldnt communicate what was needed or address quality issues -horrible substandard drywall quality leaving esthetic yuckiness

I hired this company with a contract to create plans and secure a building permit. I paid them $2100 and have no plans, no permit. Our contract states plans will be ready and submitted within 10 days. I made full payment and after 7 weeks, still no plans, no submission to our town. I have now asked for my plans by email, phone call and text over 11 times. Owner Amr is not replying to repeated emails, calls, texts. Office simply takes messages and claims not to have cell # for the owner. I have made a complaint to Consumer Protection Agency and now I am off to the Halton Police.

We contacted Maxima after reading the great reviews. The owner came right away for a quote. The team was super professional, they kept the job site clean as they worked, they went above and beyond with little extras which we appreciated. AND they were the best price of three quotes !!!!!

We bought 93 spindles and collars to replace the wood ones on our 30 year old staircase. NOONE would install them for us. We called the company to ask for names of contractors in the area who have bought these kinds of spindles from them. The closest were 1 and 2 hours away and neither returned our call. All contractors told us they were not comfortable installing thjem because they were too thin, too flimsy (they were hollow). The company charged us $500 restocking fee! Should be called “our pure profit from you” fee. We sent them back and the stair refinishing guys sourced us WAY better solid ones for $800 less. That was 40% less than Bezdan for a better product. And they look ten times better than the ones we bought from Bezdan in the first place. Still too bad we are out $500 for no reason. CAUTION -- to do your research, there are WAY better square stainless balusters out there.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review.

As a business primarily serving the trade, Bezdan’s reputation for dependability is a direct result of providing only quality products and unparalleled customer service.

The spindle which you selected is a top seller, sold to builders across the country and backed by independent proof load testing - an industry measure of strength. A report demonstrating National Building Code of Canada compliance is available at http://www.geobezdan.com/assets/images/content/TimeLineTest-Report.pdf.

Hollow spindles have been on the market for over a decade with installations conducted by a network of trade professionals independent of our business. We regret that our efforts to assist you with finding an installer or offering alternative product solutions did not satisfy your situation.

Please be assured that our re-stocking practice is an industry standard, published on our website and available prior to making a purchase. Responsible re-stocking is a multifaceted customer service and by no means a profit source.

If you have future need to discuss products or installations, we welcome a direct dialogue. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us.
