Mike Kirkwood was hired as a general contractor to build a luxury home. He claimed that he had built multi-million homes in Edmonton. He failed to present a budget. As soon as the job started, it was shutdown for a month by the city because he failed to get building permits. He failed to follow the house plans, numerous shutdowns of the site to repair damage, costs were over 30% of budget and he could not organize the finishing trades, which the home owner had to do to complete. All finishings, including kitchen, flooring, tiling, etc. had to be coordinated by the home owner because Mike Kirkwood failed to contact the trades and organize them properly. Many of the trades refused to speak with him because of the problems he was causing. The retaining walls of the driveway collapsed and were never fixed. The pipes blew upon turning on the shower amongst many other serious problems. The house was expected to be finished in September 2009. It is now 6 months after that date and the home owners were still unable to achieve home occupancy. Mike Kirkwood was fired and the home owners are trying to clean up the mess.

Our tile supplier, Eagle Tile, recommended Brent to do the tile work throughout our newly built Anmore home. Throughout the entire process it has been a pleasure to have Brent working for us. We know him to be a very meticulous and hardworking individual who absolutely nailed our vision. We couldn't be happier!

The staff at NuFloors were all great, particularly Al, who was instrumental in the decision to go with NuFloors. Al was very helpful in selecting a carpet that best suited our needs, including quality, what would hold up best and what would cover dog hair! When it came to choosing the hardwood he educated us on what woods hid scratches better and made our decisions much easier. Overall we were very happy with his assistance and would certainly visit this establishment again.

We were given a great price initially and we were happy with the plans that had been put forth. They made us sign a contract and charged us a non refundable deposit of $2,000. After getting our deposit they stopped showing up for meetings and took nearly 3 months to begin to sort things out.... It turns out that they had taken incorrect measurements and wanted us to move a wall in order to make the cabinets fit. At this point, they nearly doubled the price of what we had been quoted. Needless to say, we did not complete the job with Kitchen Craft and continue to fight for our deposit. Beware of this company!

Trying to keep our budget in tact, I did a lot of shopping around for a good price on our tile. Farida, at Eagle tile gave us a better price than all of the large tile stores and went above and beyond. Farida found out that the tile we had selected was about to become discontinued due to cracking. Instead of keeping this a secret as most companies would do, Farida not only informed us but also tracked down a comparable tile that we LOVE and even dug into the reviews to make sure we would not have a problem. We are VERY happy with her service and would recommend her to everyone.
