On saturday morning we discovered that the water damage in our basement is coused by the nail that penertated the water pipe 4 month before when we had an entrance door replaced by some "professional" installer, we had to shut down the water main in entire house and emergently called Julian to help us out. Descpite the weekend he came in the same day whitheen few hours and then on Sunday too to finish the job as we needed to coordinate the tasks with drywall repair guys at the same time as well. This is the 3rd time we use his services and cannot be happier with the results and the speed with which his works!

We were in urgent need of drywall professional when we discovered a water damaged area in our basement. We eventually discovered that the water was coming from the water pipe nailed through 4 month earlier by the door installer. We are really thankful to come across Carlos and his partner Phil. They accommodated our immediate requirement to start the project since the mold smell from the basement began affecting the air in the house and our health. Despite their busy schedule and the interruptions due to plumbing problems that were discovered after removal of damaged drywall, they could start on the nearest weekend and was done in 4 days. The finished work looks perfect now! We would differently hire them again when we are ready for another drywall project.

In Apr 2010 we contracted Aurora Home Hardware to retrofit-replace 1 entrance door that leads to a separate entrance into finished basement. Emergency plumber, drywall removal and installation, kitchen cabinets repair, furniture disposal is the cost we paid for simple, flush design metal door installation. The installer nailed down the interior door trim and drove the nail right into the water pipe. Next 4 month we wandered about increasing musty smell in our normally fine basement. The smell becomes unbearable, and we started to suffer from unusual, continuous respiratory symptoms, decided to find the source and take measures. We tore down the custom build kitchen cabinets to access the corner by the entrance door that appeared to be the source of the smell. The entire drywall corner, kitchen cabinets and flooring were covered with black mold. We had to hire drywall guys to take care of the damaged walls asap. Once drywall was removed, to our surprise we saw a hole in water pipe with the water fountaining out of it when the nail was removed. Really costly door! BTW: We do not complain about them re-scheduling our installation day 3 times in a row. Or about the bare wood door frame that was not nailed to any stud, and was entirely supported by the foam that they injected around it.

We ordered a new replacement patio door, paid 30% deposit and were told that it will take 3 weeks to manufacture it due to seasonal business of the plant. Sales person Nick/Nikolai briefly measured our existing door and said that it is STANDARD size. When after 4 weeks nothing happened, I called them to find out the status. They could not find my order in their PC system at the beginning, which gave me some clue that they did not even process it. Then their "drafting" manager called me back with the news: "the color of aluminum capping that we wanted and which will match the capping of rest of our windows has been discontinued and they are going to contact manufacturer - Gentek to confirm it". The next day the "drafting" manager calls me again with the suggestion to have either white color capping or some close color that installer guy could find. In both cases we have to wait another 2 weeks since they have to order it to the plant in US and then ship it to Ontario, all because our patio door is "CUSTOM size". Because we were disgusted with ther poor customer service we preffered to get our deposit back and to look elsewere for better luck.
