Epic Roofing & Exteriors Ltd. would be the only company I would call if I ever needed a new roof or roof repairs. We were very impressed with the professionalism from the minute we asked for a quote to the finish. They even inspected the roof before they asked for payment which was a nice touch. Workmen were respectful, kept the site clean and always touched base with us before they proceeded. Because I have used their company for several years, I have had a few of their employees in my home. Finding Knight Carpentry Inc. on Homestars was like winning the lottery because I couldn't have been any happier with the magic that Jeremy and his crew performed in our home. Our Lux windows have fir casings, and we have a lot of them. Jeremy trimmed all the windows and our baseboards in fir with exceptional skill. He also selected fir interior doors and hung them with a perfect fit. He designed our fir fireplace mantel to achieve the "Banff" look we wanted which also complimented the window design. We have an arts and crafts bungalow and so the special attention and artisanship that Knight Carpentry took was one of the best parts of our home build. The framers made a mess of our back mudroom area and we didn't know how we would recover but Jeremy saved what would have been a disaster. He covered over the mistakes and created a "wow" factor so beautiful that only we know the mess that is behind it. There really is an art to finishing carpentry and we are so grateful for this company taking our wishes and making it happen perfectly. I highly recommend this Knight for any carpentry work. You will not be disappointed. They show up on time, do what they say they will do and leave the area clean and tidy. They are also really nice people who I totally trusted in my house without me being there. I will be hiring Knight Carpentry again for our basement renovation and future exterior work. 24-7 Electric Inc. is my electrical hero because they truly saved us from a shady electrician’s incompetent actions that fortunately, did not result in a home fire. I called 24-7 and Shane and Davin arrived promptly. They pointed out all the problems and then provided an electrical solution that would take care of the huge mess that we had found ourselves in. They gave us an upfront quote for all the work needed to finish the electrical part of our renovation and even gave us a price break because of the injustice that was done to us. It is a long story but I hired a general contractor for our major home renovation and he hired an electrician who did some initial wiring resulting in safety code deficiencies that were uncorrected even after being flagged by the City Safety Officers. 24-7 not only fixed these deficiencies, but they provided diagnostic testing on our electrical panel so that we could have peace and assurance that everything was completed to code. All problems from the prior contractor were efficiently corrected and Davin’s exceptional service and support was extremely appreciated during this trying time. 24-7 has earned us a loyal customer. They ensure their work exceeds the requirements by code and their professionalism and efficiency is outstanding. Davin even provided ways for us to save money. I would highly recommend this company and I am grateful that I found them on Homestars.

Vatzek is probably the most professional, honest, meticulous, and hardest working person I have ever encountered within the trades. He sets tile with the precision and mastery of an artist and I would highly recommend him for your home or business. I am so grateful that I found him on Homestars and I have to say that the reviews on his business are totally justified. He is simply the best and I am an extremely picky customer! We are doing a major renovation of our home. We contracted Vatzek to tile both main floor bathrooms in subway tiles with a chair rail. There was quite a lot of tile work including a walk-in shower with a curb he custom built. I can honestly say that the job was perfectly completed. I could not be happier with the finish and quality of his work done. Vatzek also gave us good advice and saved us a lot of money by recommending a better way, based on his expertise. I am so glad we followed his advice because it is obvious that he has a lot of experience and knows what he is doing. Our next phase is tiling our fireplace and a kitchen backsplash and if Vatzek is busy, we will wait for him. No one puts the personal care that he puts into his work. Renovations are expensive and need the best tradesman you can get. For tile work, that would be Vatzek from Academy Ceramic Tile.

Prestige is an exceptionally professional company. We were impressed with Kody who guided us through the rail selection process and gave us a quote that outlined all the details and then scheduled our install. He answered all our questions and gave us all the info we needed to prepare for the install. George, the installer, showed up exactly on time and did an absolutely stunning job in our home. All the wood finishing was done immaculately and George is obviously highly skilled. He cleaned up the area as if he never had been there. Honestly, I didn't expect the high quality of the wood and the finishing details that were provided in the service. Prestige exceeded my expectations and I am thrilled. Wish the rest of our reno went as smoothly as this install did. Thanks Prestige for the beautiful job and making my day! I would highly recommend this company!

Calvin arrived exactly on time and after a quick review of my options, He took care of all the electrical problems within my garage. His work was efficient and he was able to update a very ugly garage and bring it back to code. Calvin was very helpful and explained everything in the process so that I was comfortable with the option I picked. He also recommended that I didn't have to do an item of work that I thought was necessary. This proved to me that he was not ripping me off (like I have been in the past by other electricians). While 4 Star isn't the cheapest company, you pay for what you get, and I am 100% satisfied and confident that the work done by Calvin was done correctly and I don't have to worry about safety anymore. I called Great Dane to help me with wiring the electrical for our new kitchen reno and island changes. They were great with all the changes and explaining what needed to be done. I would like to recommend Chinook to anyone who needs landscaping work done. We had inherited some nasty cement work when we bought our house and there was a drainage problem close to the garage. Chinook went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my satisfaction of their landscaping work. The team that did my landscaping was respectful, hardworking and completed the project exactly how and when they said it would be done, and then they did more. When using other contractors in the past, it has never been my experience to have work completed better than what was stated on the quote, however, this has been my experience with Chinook. We have a side gate that was never straight and didn't close properly. When they laid the paving stones, the installer noticed it and then took the time to fix my gate and level it, so that it would be straight and close properly. Not only did he fix it, and make it straight, now it aligns with the paving stones. This gave a much more professional finish. They also noticed that we needed some stones at the side of the house and while that was not on the quote, they added this nice bonus to finish the side area of my house. The installers also laid new sod and leveled it for better drainage. This went way beyond my expectation and we are thrilled with the results. This company could have left me with my existing fence/gate problems and ugly area at the side because I did not contract them to fix and beautify the side of my house, but they did fix it. I was amazed and asked the installer why he did it and he said, "Because it wasn't right and this would finish it off nicer". Please note that I agreed to pay a set amount for the job and this company is not being paid by the hour. I got a sense that James and Aarron took pride in their work and wanted me to be totally satisfied. All matters by Chinook were handled professionally. Ethics to me means that someone does the right thing when it would be easier to look the other way. In my interactions with Chinook, they definitely did the right thing. We have another project in the near future and they will be the only company I call to do my job.
