Direct Energy Suck at Service, called 5pm Saturday night and US Call Center advised next available appointment Monday noon to 4pm, Advised Call Centre That Was Not Acceptable, she went silent on the line??? Like it or lump it! Asked for Canadian Contact Number, "Isn't one" Asked who would be attending, "doesn't Know" Asked if anyone working this weekend, "Didn't know" Previously without hot water heat for week at New Years. Surprises, service guy showed up at 1015am Monday and couldn't fix the Polarus 34 so he called for a new replacement and advised they couldn't get a replacement till Wednesday 8am til noon Wednesday 1130 now show or call, called Direct Energy and their telephone, on line person, advised they had no idea if someone was on route, held up or what and to call them back at 1230 if no one shows up. About 5 minutes after I called the installer called and advised he was on route from Peterborough with new tank. At 1230 Surprise! Surprise! Installer arrives with tank and helper, advises monthly will increase from $43 to $51plus for replacement. (hot water, no hot water?) New Polarus 34 installed. It now costs more for the rental than for the natural gas I use for the dryer, stove, water heater, (including house heating) BBQ, and fireplace. I've always wondered why Direct Energy sends me all this email service about servicing my gas appliances when they have never serviced their water heaters that I have rented from them over the past 20 years and the only time they do any service is when I call them with a break down of their equipment. Both the service guy from Scarborough and Installer from Janetville were nice guys and seemed to know their jobs. If I thought I could get a suitable water heater elsewhere I would.
