Mike and his people were great after we were hit with the big Toronto flood in July. They were quick to get our family room floor back up for the kids(essential!) in between other jobs before starting on our other rooms which could wait a little bit. The suggestions and quality work done creating a guest room, storage area and custom shelving finished our basement added much value to our home. Despite the influx of work during the aftermath of the flood we do not feel the work was rushed or that we were gouged financially. We will definitely have them back for future work and would not hesitate to recommend them!

Company Response

Dear Samir and Erin,

It was a pleasure working with you on your basement projects. You guys have a such a wonderful family. Knowing how much it meant for your kids to have their playroom back was so amazing to see. I could not have asked for any more thanks than that. Thank you again for the opportunity to be of service. In gratitiude, Mike.

Ron came to our residence and gave us a quote, after comparing other contractors... we picked Laird And Son knowing that they were more expensive than others, mostly because they provided better quality furnaces, they agreed to do the design work and heat loss while with others I had to look for other contractors to do the parts they wouldn't and also based on the reviews on this site. The work took longer than planned, the workers didn't put full hours during the day. They stopped mid project to go to a different project leaving us without AC during the heat wave, but to be fair they came and made a temporary hookup so we had AC to one room in the house until they came back 6 days later. The quality of work was to our satisfaction, they were courteous and addressed all our requests and concerns.

We highly recommend Falcon flooring, we brought them into refinish the floors of our newly purchased 50's backsplit that had been hidden for decades under hideous green carpet. They were fast, efficient; started the job when they agreed too and completed when they said they would. The care and detail of the job brings great joy to us every day we walk on our gorgeous floors. We are constantly complemented on our floors.

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Get a steam mop like a "Shark Mop" or "H20 Mop" as they erase footprints and marks as well as clean all the hardwood floors like magic :)
