Patience, honesty and a sense of humour. We needed a single slab turned into a countertop, and some other odd little bits...so you’d think, not a big customer, not someone a salesperson would spend a lot of time with. We didn’t know what we wanted and spent a lot of time looking for it. Mark did not push us. If anything, he coached us to take our time--he realized that we would have to live with our choices for quite a while. This was a peasant relief: he didn’t see us as quick money. After we had gone to several marble sellers (who, for the most part, don’t show you even the relative prices of stones) we became a bit frustrated, as we seemed to be picking stones that were really expensive. Mark offered to go with us, and when he did he pointed out several different stones that were within our price-range. And he drew our attention to a couple of stones that were not we were not on our list. At one key point he provided us with information that really helped us to make a better, more grounded, rational choice. He’s been at this for a while...and he was right: we got, although we really didn’t know it at first, and excellent piece of stone for our small place. He knew about our place, its size, what would be around this stone...what would really work. He knew what we wanted better than we did. And didn’t pressure us with his thinking. Our choice was always ours to make. He was also honest and, when a piece of stone arrived, and had flaws several flaws (bits of epoxy being used as fillers). Mark pointed out the problems, and took the time to make sure that we got good material. Once this selection process was done, installation was straight forward. Like Mark the two guys who brought in the stone and installed it, had a pretty wicked sense of humour (hint: to avoid being the butt one joke, they do not use lasers to cut the hole for the tap) and did everything to install this counter (I had removed the old counter) in a couple of hours. These folks were fair and honest. We have a small place, so I doubt that we’ll ever need their service again. But if I did these would be my "go to" guys. When I thinks of the amount of time Mark spent with us, we clearly got incredible value for our money.
