Monet's Chemist from Vancouver

Our roof needed replacing; it was last done in 1996 and it suffers not only normal wear-and-tear but considerable shading from a large tree immediately adjacent to the front of the house. We received three quotes; two were shockingly high, whereas the one from Sunset Roofing and Construction seemed extremely reasonable. We contacted several of their recent clients, all of whom were positive, and so we decided to proceed. Roofing in the lower mainland in the winter isn't the ideal thing, but the people from Sunset showed up in early January and proceeded to do a great job. Aside from the good work, they were polite and careful with our shrubbery and the neighbours. Cleanup was extremely well-done. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others. We have a large dogwood adjacent to our house. It drops a lot of leaves which stain the front steps; it shades the roof and helps moss grow; and it is too close to the house and especially right on top of the sewer drain. So we called Monkey Tree Services to ask them to come and take a look with the idea of removing it. They gently but firmly advised us that getting a permit to remove that tree, despite the problems it creates, was going to be well-nigh impossible with the City of Vancouver, and suggested that they trim it away from the roof to at least address the roof maintenance issue. We thought it over and decided to proceed. They came when they said they would; they did a great job of the trimming and cleanup; nothing was dropped on the house; and generally we could not be more satisfied. A big shout out to Monkey Tree Services.

Serious, high-quality, on-time, on-budget, effective service. The best we have seen. Spent considerable time identifying and fixing entry points with strong wire mesh, including excavating part of garden against house. No poison! Very impressed, would use them again.
