At the beginning of 2014, we noticed mold on the top corner of our master bedroom. We checked on Homestars and found Affordable Insulation, a company that has received many positive ratings. We met with Jason who assessed the situation and provided us with the facts and what will be required to resolve the issue. Jason recommended a remediation company that would remove the mold and old insulation. We went with his recommendation and had no regrets (I reviewed Puroclean Emergency Services as well). Once the mold and old insulation was removed, Jason and his team showed up on the day of on time. The work was done in a professional manner with minimal interruption. Once completed with insulation above industry standard, Jason took the time to explain what was done and ensured we were comfortable with the work performed. Jason also made several recommendations to improve the airflow in the attics (two roofs because it is a back split). Also Jason made a return trip with an infrared camera so we could see parts of the house where we need to address cold spots. We took all these recommendations and made the necessary improvements. The reason why I did not write a review in 2014 is because the work was completed in May 2014 and I was unable to assess if the changes we made will have an impact to our comfort in the house plus a difference in our heating bill. I am happy report this winter was indeed comfortable, even in February 2015, one of the coldest months on record. I highly recommend Affordable Insulation. I also highly recommend Jason as a contractor as I deem him to be extremely professional and very polite, making us at ease dealing with him. I wish Jason and Affordable Insulation all the success.

Due to bad air circulation, the attic developed mould and we also started noticing the bedroom walls having mould. Joel made a visit and provided us an assessment that covered insulation removal, mould treatment and removal and repainting of 3 bedrooms. Once a date was set, his team did a fantastic job in keeping with the schedule finishing up on time. We were amazed with the before and after pictures. The difference was night and day and we love our freshly painted rooms. Thank you Joel and team for your attention and help in the matter.

Dave and Tedros came in and did a very professional job and put my family at ease with their explanation and quality of work. Their high rating in HomeStars is well deserved. Will use them again.
