I was very disappointed with the installers that arrived early Monday morning. The sales representative had informed me that the water heater would have to be moved to accommodate the installation; I told this to the guy working on the furnace before he started; but he responded that it was not necessary.
It took them the whole day to complete the project. At the end of the day I checked the new air conditioner and enquired if the air intake and exhaust pipe installation being side by side and only projecting 2” beyond the face of the brick was correct and was told that it was. I called Reliance and informed them that they had only provided a 1” furnace filter in lieu of the 5” filter we had purchased; and that they had left scuff marks on all the stair nosings when moving equipment in and out. The next day a Reliance serviceman Jeff #1023 showed up with just a replacement 5” filter. He informed me that the installers they sent were sub-contractors and that he would have to return with a helper to basically redo the job properly; but that they could not come back until Friday. The Reliance servicemen Jeff and Bill #1098 did a GREAT job rectifying the project, and in half the time. Before they left Bill asked me to come outside and see the changes he had to make to the air intake and exhaust pipes in order to bring them up to code. I am very pleased with the service I got from Reliance; it was unfortunate, however, that they sent incompetent men initially.
