Ramon replaced my 20 year old fence recently with a brand new one and I couldn't be more pleased with his hard work and the quality of the product he provided me. I phoned several other companies and asked several neighbours who had also recently had their fences done and Ramon's pricing is right in line with everybody else, but to me the main difference was that he owns the company, does the estimates and does the work. Ramon is totally dedicated to providing his clients with the best materials, the best workmanship and the best finished product he can provide. He is genuinely a good guy who cares about what he does. Easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. You won't go wrong if you hire him to do any fencing or decking project.

Hello A.
Thank you for the great feedback. Working with you on your fence project was my pleasure. The neighbours gave a lot of compliments as well and are happy with the style of fence you chose and the rich colour you had us stain it.

After a botched door order through Home Depot (no disrespect to Home Depot, they were great, the door company was not), we started our search for a new front door again. We decided we wouldn't do a big box store order again, and decided we'd go with a local manufacturer. Visited Doors Galore after seeing their ad one day in the Province and then looking at their website. The most attractive thing about this company was the one stop shopping. I found lots of companies that would make the door, but then they sent you off to a separate painter, and then a separate installer. I didn't want the hassle of coordinating all of these jobs, especially after a long summer of renovations. From the moment we walked into the store we got a good feeling. The sales person who greeted us was knowledgeable and gave us a tour of the painting and finishing area. Impressive! We went away, and tried to figure out exactly what we wanted. Came back a few weeks later knowing what we wanted and Steve helped us so much with our order. He listened to all our wants and needs and made suggestions. We went ahead with the order and got an installation date right away. Closer to the installation date, Mike came to do a more detailed inspection of our current door to make sure they had all the right casings, moldings etc. They even called to verify where I wanted the peep hole drilled. When Casey the installer came he was professional, quick and neat. I was so happy with the final product. The experience getting a new door with this company has been painless. I cannot say that for many reno related purchases. They have provided excellent customer service from start to end. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

We are so glad that you were introduced to our company. Unfortunately the "big box stores" just can't compete. We offer products and services that they don't. Very happy that you are so pleased. Mike Foster (owner)

Had our roof reroofed by Penfolds about 6 years ago. Have noticed a water stain developing near a skylight for some time now, but ignored it until recently when there was a huge rainstorm and I actually saw water drip onto the bathroom floor. Called Penfolds to ask them to take a look. I had not even realized the issue would still be under warranty. Somebody was at my house within 2 days, to take a look, and when the weather cleared up the very next day, somebody was at the house to do a minor repair to the flashing around the skylight. Great service. I'm very impressed. I have had some very disappointing experiences lately with home repair type companies, but Penfolds has restored my faith in local companies who stand by the quality of their work.

Our Warranty Program is the back bone of Penfolds Roofing. All warranties are presented to our customers on completion of a project and our data base is updated so we can process claims without pointing fingers. We are sorry that you had a leak but are pleased that we took care of you. Ken Mayhew, President.

Please note, they also operate under name "Capilano Metal." These guys are terrible. They were recommended to my contractor by his friend who is in the "business". They came, gave me an estimate, my contractor said it sounded fair, so I placed my order, giving them 50% of a $1400. They rails for my front stairs came about 2 weeks later, and all 4 pieces were WRONG. They took them away, fixed them and brought them back a week later. STILL WRONG, but I didn't notice until they screwed them in. All 4 pieces are short. So basically you can see the screw threads hanging in the air. It is terrible. They made excuses like, oh the stone is uneven, so we can't get it exact. Uh, isn't that what a tape measure is for?? So they said they would come fix it, but it has been 3 weeks and they are not coming. I still owe them $700+, but told them they won't get the rest of their money until it's fixed. But at this point, I have to assume, they are walking away. They keep making false promises. These guys cannot be trusted. Take your business elsewhere!!

It is with much regret that you are not satisfied with the installation of your railings Angela, and chose to write so poorly of our services.
It is an unfair statement to claim we make false promises, as we addressed your concerns, made a completely new second railing, (which you also rejected), yet nothing appears to be an appropriate solution for you.
The product we provided is as you ordered, but the manner in which it was installed seems to be your issue. As you mentioned, we informed you that due to the uneven nature of the ledgestone brick, it is very difficult to get an exact measure of where the bottom rail will match the surface. The railing was perfectly leveled on your stairs during installation, which is of utmost importance, and the top railing met perfectly with the uneven ledgestone finish. In doing so, there is a ¼” gap between your uneven mounting surface & the mounting bracket for the bottom rail only.
You stated – “So they said they would come fix it, but it has been 3 weeks and they are not coming”. We are waiting for you to choose which of several possible options we offered you, to make the connection between the bottom rail bracket & the screw meet more seamlessly with the uneven Ledgestone surface.
It is not our company keeping you waiting, but rather your refusal to make a decision that is holding us back from creating a satisfactory completion to your project.
