What started as fixing the faucet escalated to replacing the sink which then progressed to new counters and now a new backsplash! With just a little over 30 square feet of counters in our condo we still wanted quality materials and workmanship. I remembered Rockstella from a previous visit when we were having our lake house kitchen marble replaced with Caesarstone. Rockstella didn't do that job for us (too far away) but I remembered liking the woman with whom I spoke that time and stopped in a couple of weeks ago. Natallia, delightful as ever, came up with several quartz suggestions according to our wants and my wife and I chose one. Natallia had our kitchen templated within three days and the new counters were in within the week! We like the finished counters even more than the sample on which we based the order. The installers arrived promptly on the appointed morning, didn't so much as leave a fingerprint. They spent as much time cleaning up as they did installing! Very considerate gentlemen and friendly. Highly recommended based on all of the staff we dealt with and the excellent resulting work. We would definitely use Rockstella again.

We needed to replace our marble counters in our lake house on Manitoulin Island and after several disappointing experiences I went to Latitude based on the recommendation of a cabinet maker. From our first visit to completion we have been impressed and pleased with the people, the products and the service. Templating, counter install and backsplash install all happened when scheduled (actually they called and asked to come a day EARLY which was perfect). Zara kept us advised and updated regarding our Caesarstones and the granite we chose for the pantry. The install guys did a superb job but before they could do their part the "cutter" has to be commended for matching the veining so the eating bar and even the backsplashes flow together. Great job! The counters are perfect and when they came back to complete the backsplash areas nothing was missed. Every person I dealt with worked to make the result easy and perfect. It isn't easy getting work done this far from the GTA, but Latitude came through and we recommend them without reservation.

Classic "low ball" experience with this company. Went to their showroom with complete documents for a quote. Spoke with the listed owner. She quoted a good price based on the kitchen cabinet supplier's plans and additional, accurate measurements. The request we made clearly showed and listed counters, eating bar and backsplash. Because the install location was out of town there was to be additional travel costs. She wrote down the estimate and called me once. We emailed that we wanted to go ahead, but after not hearing from her over the winter I contacted to company again. Spoke with different people who all referenced the same file I had supplied with measurements and listed needs. Second estimate from owner's son?, brother?, and the estimate went up $5K for travel (90% increase). We agreed to pay for the travel and arranged to have the kitchen "template". Paid $1K deposit to get templating done. After templating price got bumped another $4K. They said backsplash, although clearly identified in every communication and included with the original request package was not included. Original quote was $6K, second quote was $11K and final quote was $15K and it took them nine months to get me that "final" padded price. They are refunding the deposit because the head "low baller" says take it or leave it. They have wasted nine months of my time, had me remove our temporary counter tops and kitchen sink while they have invested nothing. I could never recommend a company who specializes in "low balling" its customers. All the signs were there. The first salesperson disappeared, no telephone calls returned and feigned indignance when their game gets called. Go elsewhere. You won't regret avoiding Majestic. Just as an update, Mike (who refuses to take telephone calls and hides behind the receptionists) has decided to go back on his word and is refusing to honour his offer to refund our deposit. There is a reason he refuses to respond to emails: it would require him to tell the truth. Further update: Mike finally refunded our deposit. We are done.

After five years of living with the builder's bleak master ensuite in our condo we decided to remake it into a luxury version. I purchased all top-line products (Grohe, Kohler, Toto, etc.) and some very nice Porcelanosa tile but we needed someone to do the work. We interviewed about five companies, all with good reviews, but A&R stood out from the crowd right from the start. I liked what I read about Alex and his crew here on HomeStars but when he came out to give us an estimate he listened to what we wanted to do but also immediately had some suggestions to put forward. His was neither the highest or the lowest quote, but came across as both realistic and fair. Once selected, our job was his main focus and his time revolved around getting our work completed. Working in condominiums is not easy for contractors and our complex is no exception, but Alex was able to schedule and use his time well. Every day moved things along and we managed to get by some real "showstopper" issues (the third bathtub was the lucky installation!) without complaints, only solutions. A 4-piece, condo bath barely has room for one worker, but Alex and Mike kept the job going every day, were always there for 9:00 am and always left us with a cleaned up and cleared home when they left each afternoon. We particularly liked not being "nickel-and-dimed" over the quote. We paid a bit extra for the oversized tiling (12"x24" on floor, 12"x35" on walls) and the floor to ceiling tile work but that was both expected and reasonable, and the result was definitely worth it. We also appreciated that Alex let us do the painting of the ceiling and wall portions and fit it into the completion schedule. Had we not had issues with the building's plumbing for the bathtub, this would have been finished in just over a week. As it was, getting the new tub (from a warehouse in West Virginia!) added a couple of extra days, probably more of an issue for Alex and Mike than us. We highly recommend Alex and A&R Renovations for their business practices, their work ethic and skill and I would have to add for their taste. More than once during the renovation I was thinking of doing something and Alex would say, "We could do that, but it wouldn't look as good as if we did this...", and he was right. Our master ensuite is beautiful and we feel that with A&R we have maximized the potential of the room. We provided the fixtures and the tile, so the cost I am showing is what we paid for the fine work and excellent advice of Alex and A&R, and it was our pleasure to have them in our home.
