When we first moved to Whitby we called on Al for repairs and painting; the next year we had him erect a fence and deck for us; year after next he renovated our basement for us. Needless to say he and his crew can do it all. And needless to say we've been happy with their work because we keep hiring and recommending Al's Home Services.
We contracted another company for snow removal this season but we're sorely let down, so whenever that crew didn't show up we called Jake. He always did a good job and came when he said he would. His prices were reasonable too. We're definitely going to go with him for next season!
Contract says 5 cm of snow or more, driveway cleared by 6 am, multiple visits per snowfall. We were lucky if they came once whenever it snowed and usually they'd show up late at night if at all!!¡' Voice mailbox is always full so they can't be reached by phone and the only time they responded to e-mail was at the start of the season to get my cheque/contract signed. Disappointed. Waste of money. Cannot recommend this company.
This was our second time using 1-800-GOT-JUNK. While they are pricey, the company is in general very professional and does get the job done. Unfortunately, I did not find this crew as thorough or conscientious as the crew that helped us out the first time. As advertised, the crew is supposed to sweep up after wards, but they didn't this time, and there was even a little bit of broken glass left behind (one of the men did clear most of the glass by hand, but no one swept away the dirt/dust like the first crew did). And although they called ahead to say that they were running late, a follow-up call to tell us their ETA never came and they just showed up at the door unannounced and without the 15-30 minute warning as is the stated procedure. Perhaps they were just in a hurry because they were behind schedule, but still, I was a bit disappointed, especially since our first experience was so good and we were repeat customers. It's the little things that make you a loyal customer.
