My own ability at being handy is limited to picking up a hammer, and promptly hitting my thumb with it. Keino and his staff at DEH were aware of this, and were patient and able to explain to me in language I would understand what needed to be done and why. The job took a little longer than anticipated, but the house is +65 years old. There were some unexpected issues, understandably given the age, and there was no conversation about changing the quote. I did see the renovations being done on a daily basis, their work area was always clean when they left, and I was happy with the results and how things progressed. Friends and family who saw the house as a before and after were startled by the transformation. The colours chosen, new flooring/stairs, new light fixtures, and modern trim made the rooms appear bigger and gave the house a fresh, new look. The work they did outside the house also contributed to giving the house a new look. The ultimate compliment is that I was left with the feeling that I wished I had done these renovations years ago.
