When I come across a contractor that does a good job, I have to share. When I called CanSeal, they were very informative over the phone and I liked the fact that they used Permacon Polymeric XP filler to fill the cracks before sealing. This method works very well. I have a large 90x20 driveway and Canseal's price was very reasonable to fill cracks, patch heaved culvert cracks, and clean and seal the whole driveway. My 20-year old, neglected laneway looks like new again. The guys did a nice job and were neat and careful with the application. I would recommend them and will use them again.

The roof I just had replaced on my high-ranch bungalow was only ten years old and was completely shot. I found out the hard way that I had nothing in the way of a warranty, even though they were 30-year BP shingles. Needless to say, this time around I was much more diligent in my research for a new roof, and paid special attention to the warranty details. I chose Kluke’s Roofing and Owens Corning Duration shingles because Kluke’s is a certified Owens Corning installer, which makes the warranty outstanding. By using a certified installer, I get a 50-year, non prorated warranty that covers pretty much everything including removal and disposal of the faulty roof, and covers material and installation costs of the replacement roof, and if I sell my house, it’s transferrable. Note that if you go with a non-certified contractor, you get a 10-year prorated warranty that is pretty much useless, so certification of the installer is important. Klukes wasn’t the highest of the quotes, nor were they the lowest, but they were reasonable, knowledgeable, and again, certified. They showed up on time, worked very hard, and did an excellent job of my new roof. It looks amazing, and I have piece of mind that I have a rock solid warranty. I would recommend them to anyone, and in fact, I already have to several neighbors and coworkers.

These guys are top notch. Insultech did an excellent job getting my attic properly ventilated and up to R50. They were on time, knowledgeable, and knew their stuff. I would recommend them to anyone.

I wasn't as fortunate as other reviewers. The installation of my FM Industry (Clera) windows was completely botched. The windows themselves are fine, but the installation was a complete joke. The capping slopes in and water pools on the sill. Ice forms inside due to lack of insulation - no insulation on some windows or on the door frame - confirmed by third party installers and by a recent NRCan energy audit which failed a blower door test. Massive air infiltration was confirmed around all windows and the front door. Repeated efforts to rectify the poor installation have fallen on deaf ears. Very frsutrated and disappointed. UPDATED Jan 05, 2010 – I'm into my third winter with these windows and am very disappointed with the performance. Ice forms on the inside of the windows (not water, but ice), cold air still comes in under the front door sill, and it is very uncomfortable to sit anywhere near a window. I'm truly amazed that anyone would rate these windows with top marks. I must have received a dud batch because mine are worse than the 20 year old wooden windows I replaced.
