Dissatisfied customer

What ever you do do not allow Al to set one foot onto your property either now or anytime in the future. I paid for a garage and singed a contract with him in July and paid for this project in good faith that he would complete my garage build. Ever sense day one its been an endless supply of delays, excuses and dishonesty. I was supposed to have a garage by the end of August then October 7th and the concrete wasn't even done till thanksgiving. He finally partially framed 3 walls one of which was framed wrong as the window and door were framed to some oddball size. This cheap card player cant even read a tape measure let alone run a contracting business. Sense then Al has refused to take phone calls, texts or emails and be forthcoming with any updates or info the entire time. Subsequently I get a email right after I fire him out of the blue that he alleges he is insolvent (which I followed up on and he has not even filed for insolvency) and refuses to refund moneys paid for unfinished work and has gone into hiding. I am out $18,000 because of this scum. Hes not even a prepaid contractor in the Provence of Alberta so for him to take money from all these people and not be bonded that is very offside, and he's been reported to the consumer affairs board of Alberta and I recommend all others victimized by him to do also. Worst of all I have a young daughter that cant have access to her back yard as he has left my back yard in a state of shambles to the point where it was unsafe for her to be in.
