PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU ORDER FROM NORDIK! We placed a $67k order for some new windows & doors in Nov '22 & were given approx date of April for windows & May/June for doors. Gave a $20k deposit. Technician came Nov 26th to check-measure everything - was very thorough & said that the sales rep had mis-quoted the sliding doors as standard size instead of custom size so needs to be re-priced & sales rep would be contacting me if there was going to be a price change/quote revision. I hear nothing & follow up with the sales rep to confirm the status of the order. 7 text messages later I finally receive a call back from him & receive the quote revision to change the dimensions & price on the sliding door Feb 1st which I sign back immediately. We've now lost 2 months even though the sales rep assured me that he's keeping everything moving. (Not true.) Finally receive a call (in April I believe) to book install for windows the week of June 13th but of course they need more $ to secure the install date so we send them more $. Installers show up as scheduled. They are 3 young friendly & polite guys but it soon becomes obvious that they are under-experienced and ill-equipped for the scope of the project that includes some very large and heavy custom windows that are about 20' high. No scaffolding, undersized ladders, not enough man-power & we actually gave them some of our tools because theirs weren't sufficient for the job. The exterior caulking job was sloppy & they had screwed through the interior flashing to secure the windows which looked terrible & apparently isn't how they are supposed to be installed. There was also a pinched/cut gasket on one of the windows that was supposed to be fixed but to date, still has not been done. The other issue was that Nordik hadn't considered how they were going to replace our window trim. We were switching from a thin colonial trim to a flat trim but the trim they supplied was much wider than existing so it didn't fit. (This is still an ongoing issue.) So I contact the sales rep & explain the situation, I then call Nordik & explain my concerns. They send a more experienced crew the following Saturday to install the upper windows. They get the windows installed but don't have time to complete the exterior or interior trim. We later notice the next day that we can literally see daylight in several areas where the spray foam has been missed. The installer comes back promptly to 'fix' it. The installers then come back two more times to complete the exterior trim/caulking & interior trim & also send Kevin the Install Manager to look at the install job because the flashing is dented in several places & is bubbling/buckling on the windows. Kevin decides that the installers should replace the vinyl flashing with aluminum to prevent it from buckling. Another date is scheduled to complete this & more $ paid. I then receive a call to schedule install of the sliding doors. Installers come to install sliding doors only to find out that one of the doors is backwards. When sales rep changed pricing & custom dimension of the sliders in February he also changed the orientation so now we have to wait for a new door! In the meantime we have painters painting the house trim & when up on their ladders they notice that the upper windows are missing a lot of caulking with large open gaps along the tops & sides of the windows. They take some photos & send them to me. With rain on the way, my husband (who has a hip replacement & is terrified of heights) goes up a 24' ladder to try to caulk any exposed gaps on the four upper windows since we've now noticed water damage on several areas of the new trim & are very concerned about any further water damage the might be causing mold growth or damaging drywall and support beams etc. He's not a pro but did the best he could. I then received a call from customer service saying they are sending a service tech on Sept 9th to fix the sliding door. The service tech Jason shows up with parts and a work order to repair a double hung window in the master bedroom AND I DON'T HAVE ANY DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS! He knows nothing about the sliding door & says that it will have to be re-ordered. Sensing my frustration (I'm fighting back tears at this point) Jason takes a look at the install issues, takes some photos & the photos that I sent him & writes up a detailed service report which includes the shoddy trim work that is literally falling off & the once again buckling flashing. I call customer service Sept 12th who tells me new slider ETA is Jan 25th & earliest date for service to fix leaking windows is Oct. 20th! I ask her if the installers that are coming to install the doors next Friday could fix the caulking because despite my husband's efforts, some of the windows are still leaking. She said no, that it has to be a service tech. I request to speak to a manager again and the sales rep also said that a manager would be calling but I have yet to receive a call. Sept 16th is finally door install day & I'm excited that we'll have everything installed so I can complete final audit for my energy rebate but the front door is damaged so they can't install it! The back doors go in fine & seem ok. I send a detailed text to the sales rep, explaining my frustration and he said a manager would be calling me - still no call or updates. In the meantime, we get another heavy rain and the windows are still leaking so my husband goes back up the ladder on Saturday and finds and caulks yet more gaps around the new windows. I was so excited about the new windows and doors. I'm still very hopeful that they will fix everything and if so I will gladly update my review. However at this point, I'm extremely disappointed with this experience so far! We replaced the windows to update and add value to our home. The current state that we are in with these windows would actually be a detriment to the home's value.
