After installing a new dishwasher and using it a few times there was a leak- water running silently for a day to downstairs! Jim then the owner, came out on Boxing Day and fixed it by very carefully tweaking the old pipe so that nothing broke( which would have resulted in major, major repairs. The willingness to come out during the holidays, to be careful and considerate of older materials, and to really know his trade. So appreciated.

Wanted to upgrade my kitchen but limit costs. This was the only company that really listened and agreed to do a combination of new cupboard doors to the structures I wanted to keep and to make custom-made cupboards in addition. The end result was fabulous. A pre-fabricated system would not have looked as good and cost would have been similar. The quality of millwork is perfect. The paint work was well done and has lasted through scrubs and cleaning as is sometimes needed in a kitchen. The style blends in with my older home's look. The only criticism is that it all took longer as the owner/ sole worker at the time had too much other work to complete. But the end result was worth it. Also not sure that the company would now take on this type of job.

Backyard fence with 3 gates. Estimate was done promptly and details explained. Work done when promised with no delays.Delivery of lumber with no damages. removal of old fence done well. No damage to other structures. The work was done without any problems by a main worker and his helper. Manually dug holes, placed post and installed simple cedar fence. Nice work on three gates, simple and functional and what I had requested. Cleanup was perfect. I was asked whether I wanted to keep remaining cedar boards or not- as they were part of the estimate. I did and they served nicely to build raised garden beds later.

Hired the company b/o previous good experience with drainage work. Surprised that roofer who did estimate had not checked and noticed that additional work was needed to install plywood. This added significant cost, hours and damage to soffits. Multiple deficiencies noted at end of work. Cleanup was poor- dangerous nails all around home grounds. As I had paid it was a struggle to get the repairs/ remedies carried out- which added time and stress for me. In the end the company owner made fairly good efforts to set things right. Lessons learned- get multiple estimates even if you know one company form previous experience. Contact the BC Roofers Association or read their online info. Learn about roofing yourself- Ask for details re shingles for example and do ask for the manufacturer's warranty ( it is detailed and will be necessary should you have any claims- the roofing company/ installer may or may not be around for 15-25 years... and there are many clauses so a 25 year warranty is not what we think). Do communicate with the company. Do withhold a percentage of the bill until you are satisfied all is well done.
