For years we've had cold bedrooms in our top floor (those bedrooms also happen to be furthest away from the furnace!). To try and solve it, we've added insulation, replaced windows with no significant change in comfort or temperature. After having done some research on air sealing (and seeing all the positive reviews of Aeroseal Tech), I reached Victor. He spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me walking through potential causes and the Aeroseal process. Very knowledgeable, he explained the process end to end and answered a number of questions (not all related to the ducts or air system). No pressure, very reassuring. In moving forward, I was able to arrange for the sealing to be done a few weeks after my initial call with Victor. His crew arrived on time - and very conscious of wearing protective covers on their shoes and protecting the floors. The crew were also very knowledgeable and well equipped with thermal cameras to review causes of heat loss and other devices to measure airflow in the ducts. Through the process, my ducts went from 30%+ leakage to less than 0.5%. After balancing the ducts, airflow to the two cold rooms improved by more than DOUBLE the original flow (pre-sealing). We now have NO perceivable difference in temperature between the floors (vs. before it was either a wall of cold in the winter or a heat wall in the summer going up the stairs) and our two bedrooms are finally warm and comfortable. I'm looking forward to the summer for more balanced air conditioning across the house (and hopefully lower power bills!). I can't speak enough about how well this works. I'd encourage you to do some research (as I did) on the process. Aeroseal Tech are a reputable company and know their product well. Fantastic experience and can vouch for all the other positive reviews here (it's rare to see such consistency on Homestars.. clearly a strong endorsement for the company and results!).. it's not inexpensive but has made the biggest impact in comfort for our home in only a few hours. Great company, great product - happy customer.

Excellent experience. Regular communication from the company prior to the visit to confirm details and appointment. Tech confirmed ETA while en-route during agreed window so I knew exactly when to expect him. Tech (Caco) was fantastic. Courteous, protected the floors and wore coverings on his shoes. Explained every step of the process, meticulous. Took before/after pictures and cleaned up well afterwards. True professional. Honest company with great customer service - would not hesitate to recommend.

After a testing kit I bought at a big box hardware store showed significantly high levels of radon in my basement I called Mr. Radon for assistance. They carefully explained some of the mitigation options and I ended up setting an appointment a few short weeks later to begin mitigation. As part of the project I also had them replace an ageing sump pump as well as fully seal the sump pit. They also conducted testing and installed a radon mitigation system. Andrew and his assistant were wonderful to deal with. They answered many of my questions and also were very thoughtful about getting my input in terms of where the mitigation fan should be installed and placement within my utility room. they were meticulous in their work and take great pride in explaining how the systems all work together. The workspace was left clean and tidy after they finished. I am pleased to say that my radon levels are now in the single digits which is significantly lower then prior to remediation. I’ve noticed my basement is drier and in fact the humidity in the house is also much lower. Radon can be a significant health threat so I would encourage everyone to get their levels tested. You can count on Mr. radon to give you an honest assessment of what’s going on and resolve the issue. I highly recommend this company.

Overall - very happy with the work and recommend this company for your landscaping needs! Here's our story.. After looking for a reputable landscaping company for a few weeks (many who never bothered to call back), I was in touch with Carlo. Within a few days, Carlo came to our house to discuss the job further, look at the area and offer some suggestions. The grass in our backyard was damaged in many spots due to a really difficult summer (and neglect). We also had ongoing issues with water drainage from our neighbours (as their backyard is entirely concrete, water from their property would drain onto ours - creating flooding). The job involved re-sodding the backyard as well as building a drainage channel between our neighbour to channel the water to the front of the house (and street). This involved digging a trench between the properties and a dry well solution to catch and dissipate the large volume of water. We also had a number of concrete pavers and brick path next to our house that (over the years) required re-seating. From the very start, Carlo was professional, reliable and no-nonsense. He worked with us to build a solution that we were comfortable with. While it was a few weeks before he could get started, he was in regular contact to provide updates on when his team would be able to start the job (timing was exactly what he'd originally estimated). His team was professional and hard working. The pride of workmanship was also evident, particularly in making sure that our pavers and drainage solution were both functional AND also aesthetically pleasing. Though the work involved a lot of digging (into hard clay I might add!), the team left the area spotless. Our backyard changed from a embarrassing eyesore to something we now look forward to spend time in! I can't say enough good things about Carlo and his team. With the hot weather, air conditioning has become an absolute necessity. The upper level of our home has always been much hotter than the rest of the house, so much that we've had to sleep in the basement some nights. We spent some money adding insulation and improving ventilation to our attic, which improved things somewhat but still our furnace felt a bit weak in blowing cold air to our upper floor. The air conditioner seemed to be working properly and the main and basement floors were nice and cold. Having noted that our furnace (when heating) was using a higher blower speed than the air conditioning, I asked Rick from About Comfort Air to have a look at our unit (only 5 years old). Rick responded to my call immediately and we set up an appointment shortly afterwards. Rick properly diagnosed the issue as the furnace having been improperly wired for A/C operation. As it turns out, the blower was only operating at low speed. Rick checked over the whole A/C and furnace system, made an adjustment to the wiring and we now have ice cold air blown at high speed throughout our house. What an amazing change - our upper floor is now comfortable - a first since we moved into our home a few years ago! I'd recommend Rick any time for his calm demeanor and professional approach. He knows his stuff and is easy to talk to. We'll be using Rick again for any issues related to our air conditioning or furnace.

After seeing the number of positive reviews on Homestars, I contacted the Eavestrough Company to install gutter protection on our eavestroughs. We have a large maple tree in our front yard that has not only a lot of leaves, but also maple "keys" that regularly clog up the eaves. Sometimes it's been so badly plugged that water overflows to our foundation (good thing we have a sump pump as otherwise we'd have a flooded basement!). This company is honest and very responsive. An estimate was provided within a day of my original contact and the work was scheduled promptly. All gutters were cleared of dirt and debris and they didn't leave any garbage behind. Highly recommended.

Very positive experience. Staff arrived on time and explained the process from start to finish. They were careful to cover any furniture in the way of access to the attic for our top-up and also provided some helpful observations on some ventilation considerations for the future. I really appreciated the positive attitude of the guys.. they really enjoy their jobs, take pride in their work. Great ambassadors for Insta-insulation and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

Needed a trusted electrician to install several potlights on our main floor. Our philosophy was that if you install tiles improperly, they'll crack or break. If you do the electrical improperly, you get a fire - best to use someone who knows what they're doing! Avid watchers of Holmes on Holmes, we found Frank through the show's web site. Friends of ours had recommended others that did installs without permits, used cheap fixtures, etc. We didn't want to take the chance. Frank and Joe were very professional and explained everything to us. The contractors that did the work were professional and courteous. They minimized the amount of damage and were a pleasure to deal with. The only minor complaint we had was trying to get a confirmed appointment. Suspect this was simply because of our timing (near the holidays). These guys know what they're doing and won't compromise to do it right. Recommended.

We recently bought a townhome that had been neglected over the years and needed some immediate sparkle. We checked out a number of businesses specializing in installation of crown moulding and baseboards. Many places could not show us the actual product we wanted (picking from catalogues is not comforting) or the samples in their showrooms were not finished very well. If the showroom piece isn't well installed, we can't imagine how it would look on our walls! We were very impressed by Trimwork's showroom and Gary's attention to detail and passion for his work. He made a number of suggestions that we hadn't even thought of but glad that we went ahead with. The best part of our experience was the installer, Darren. He was polite, professional and very meticulous. He is the type of person that doesn't stop until the job is done completely right (no short cuts here). We were doing our own renovations while Darren was on site.. we enjoyed his company. Easy going personality and great craftmanship. We found the whole experience very positive and would not hesitate to recommend or use Trimworks again in the future. These guys are professionals and take lots of pride in what they do. Our house is now a source of pride and a pleasure to live in.
