I first used Strong Plumbing 7 or 8 years ago to have a couple of water shutoffs replaced. (Even back then he was one of the top rated plumbers on HomeStars). This time around I had a more significant problem - sewage backing up in my basement. I sent a text message to Val on October 6. - within an hour I had a response and an appointment booked for the next day. He arrived on time, ran his scope down the sewer and identified the problem was an old style sewer trap (my home is 70 years old). He suggested the solution was removing the trap and installing a new clean out. He also suggested that I could install a backwater valve at the same time and take advantage of Toronto's valve rebate. I agreed to go ahead. At that point Val took over and handled all the arrangements - city permits, getting utilities marked etc. Given this Covid 19 stuff, I thought this might take awhile, but at every step I received updates from Val and the job was completed on October 19th - 12 days from first call to completion. And the job itself was amazing. The hole was surprising small and his team put down drop cloths for the dirt and even protected the garden borders. The final cleanup was equally impressive! The air quality in my basement has already improved and our drains are definitely working better. I may be old school, but I call Strong Plumbing because I know who is going to come to my door and I know the job will be done right. Because of that, I've never comparison shopped. When you find someone that can do the job, why look any further! Overall, I think his prices are fair and honest. On top of that Val is a nice and interesting guy to talk to! Without a doubt I will use Strong Plumbing again!

My washer konked out the Saturday before Christmas. While the problem was likely a lid switch or pump, the appliances were a dozen years old and had come with house. It was a simple decision to get a new set. Had bought a dishwasher from Caplans' in the fall and really liked the service so figured I would go back. As it turned out Caplan's was closed between Dec 23 until Jan 2nd for the holiday - kudos to them for putting family ahead of commercialism. That gave me lots of time to research models and check boxing day sales from other retailers. It was a bit of risk waiting for Caplan's when all these great boxing day sales were going on, but I figured their service would be worth the wait. On Jan 2nd I went down to Caplan's and bought a new set with help from Paul. Got the set, a complimentary iron, free delivery and only had to pay $60 for installation. Prices were as good as any other boxing day sales. The bonus came at delivery time when it turned out my laundry taps were seized and the guys couldn't hook up the washer. No problem - after I got the plumbing fixed they squeezed me in a few days later no extra charge do the istall and hauling away the old appliances. You're not going to get that kind of service from a big box store! So far, so good, I can't complain about Caplan's.

When a new laundry machine was delivered I quickly learned the old taps were seized (doh, why didn't I check before) and the new machine couldn't be installed. Anyway, I called up Valentin on a Saturday and he returned my call on Sunday morning. We found mutually convenient time to fix things a couple of days later. He showed up on time and had the taps fixed up in no time. A job done, quickly, efficiently and for a fair price. Highly recommend!
