I purchased an old house (built in 1945) that had very little insulation in the attic and none in the basement. I was fortunate to qualify for the energy audit under the full program so a year after I moved in I had arranged for Great Northern Insulation to come out for an estimate. I had estimates from 3 other companies but the representative from GNI was the most knowledgeable and helpful plus their price was very competitive. They arrived on time and I was pleased with how quickly the job went. They increased the insulation in the attic from its original R20 value to R50 and did a great job of cleaning up the mess. At the same time, another crew was in the basement putting spray foam insulation in the headers and on the walls. Again they did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to add some warmth to their home. It has made a huge difference in my heating costs and it is so much cooler in the house in the summer.

I discovered that I had lead water pipe coming into my house from the street to my water meter inside. It turns out that the city of Welland had a program to replace lead pipes and I needed to get two quotes to submit for the project. One of the companies that quoted me was Bernier Excavating. The owner of the company, Reg, was very friendly and helpful. He and his workers showed up on time to start the work. It was a very hot summer day to be working outside but his crew was up to the challenge. The project took 1.5 days to complete and the job was professionally finished. Reg and his crew were great and they followed up on the job to make sure everything was still okay...no leaks etc. I would recommend these guys for any excavating job.

Two years ago I hired Beverley Hills to replace all the windows in a house I had just bought. The old windows were originals from 1945 and were in very poor condition. They arrived on time and did a very professional job of installing the new windows. They cleaned up the mess and took away the old windows and the old aluminum awnings. I was very pleased with the new windows. They are easy to clean, attractive to look at and made a huge difference in the look of my house. The energy efficiency of these windows went a long way to helping me get the most back on my energy audit. This past month I decided to replace the front door - again it was an original door from 1945 and was in poor condition letting in lots of draughts. Once again they arrived on time, did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. The new door looks great and is of great quality. I would recommend them to anyone interested in getting their windows and doors replaced.
