We can now sit by a warm fire! There were some bumps along the way, but "A" for effort and outcomes. We went with Doug for the chimney rebuild after he was recommended by a WETT-certified chimney inspector whom we had used for homeowner peace-of-mind and previous home insurance documentation. Doug's key man, Stephane, was excellent. They provided photos and information throughout the disassembly of the existing chimney and the rebuild. They also used recycled bricks that matched the age and look of our house. They maintained good communication, addressed our concerns, and performed follow-up visits to ensure everything was in good working order. We recommend their services. After initially misplacing our trust and paying a residential roofing and solar company to manage the refurbishment of our chimney (while they installed a new roof) we suffered leaks and moisture damage. While the self-proclaimed *NUMBER ONE* roofing company in Vancouver was more eager to argue rather than remedy our problems, we had their work on the roof and chimney inspected. The resulting reports showed that we were, in fact, victims of shoddy workmanship and deceptive business practices. The family-run roofing company, which advertises heavily on TV, radio, and social media - and touts a reputation for "honesty and quality craftsmanship" - did not perform their obligations as contractually agreed to, and their work DID NOT COMPLY with building code requirements. Having Doug and Stephane on the job was a welcome relief. Thank you!

We first contacted Phoenix Roof Consultants for an inspection of our primary residence in January 2021. They were highly recommended by a neighbour who had done excellent roofing work for us on a recreational property. After two months of waiting for a reply email, we contacted Phoenix again. They provided a quote of $525 which we accepted. We thought we had moved into a scheduling queue, but apparently this was not so. It required additional emails to re-confirm our acceptance of the price quote as Phoenix was having difficulty receiving our emails. Too avoid any further setbacks, we provided drone shots and other photos of our home ahead of the inspection visit. We re-scheduled our personal plans in order to be home for their preference of a Saturday appointment. On the day of the appointment, we waited for the Phoenix team. After quite a delay, we received a text from Phoenix. It read (in part): "We stopped by today. My junior felt that it was too unsafe so he didn't want any part of this inspection. I would have knocked, but we ended up just leaving. Sorry for this as I know you are desperate for a solution. I cannot force him to help me on this one..." We were stunned. It was a sunny and dry day. Over our 25 years of home ownership we have had many people work on our roof, gutters, chimney, and skylights. Phoenix Roofing Consultants wasted our time and did not have the courtesy to call or speak with us. Zero Stars.

This was our first time using the team at Clean Break Home Services and they did an excellent job of cleaning our gutters. They were prompt, polite, and professional - and provided before and after photos of the finished job. They also tacked up a square of wire mesh to cover a small hole in the soffits to keep some curious birds out. And when we decided on the spur of the moment to have them clean the windows as well, they had no problem with quoting and completing our request on the spot. Great work! Highly recommend!

Ruben did a great job. He showed knowledgeable insight and provided good suggestions at the quote stage. He made sure that the hedge height was what we wanted. The physical work was excellent. Yard cleanup was excellent, too. Highly recommend!
