Prepaid for opening and closing. Came back to repair the spot that they didn't have a part for at opening. Some areas were not covered well, and 2 sprays were not working, so called multiple times, sent text numerous times to Ryan, and there has not been even one response. Called his office, and was told he is extremely busy. Is that what you do when you are extremely busy, that you ignore your client who is calling for help on the drying out annuals, Ryan? Just close the system at the end of the season (since no way they will refund the prepaid closing fee), and good luck.

We bought 2 Carrier air conditioners in Aug, 2016 with extended warranty of 11 years. One of the air conditioners was broken. The tech came right next day to fix it. He got the part next day and came back to fix it in less than 10 minutes, and the warranty covered the part and labour.

Assisted Review

An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.

The technicians doing the installation were as best as any service crew can be. They were courteous, professional and polite. And, at the end of their job, it was very easy to tell that the quality of their work was superb and neat. Thank you - Joe and Sergey.

Dust Trap advertises their company as Electrolux although they do very little business with Electrolux. Because we trust the brand Electrolux, I Googled Electolux to find a service technician to check out our centeral vacuum system at home. All over the web, Dust Trap posts themselves as Electolux and one can't find their real name Dust Trap. I assume that is how they attract unassuming customers like us who trust the brand Electrolux. We called them to have our central vacuum system checked to make sure it is functioning properly because air was leaking from one of the wall contacts. Spoke with Nelson on the phone who told us that the service charge was $79.99. He sent a technician called Ben who came over and told us there was nothing wrong with the system. Unfortunately I did not have time to check on my credit card bills for few months and just found out that I was charged $259.98! I had Ben's #, so contacted him. Ben told us that he had nothing to do with billing. When we asked him for Nelson's # that we didn't have, Ben refused to give it to us. Since we got Nelson's # through Yellow Pages, we had to make a dozen of phone calls to find Nelson's business. When we finally found his shop and called him. His response was that we are calling too late and he cannot remember the work and they must have done some work to charge us. Then he hung up. We are relatively new to Toronto. I consider this fraud and will try to find whatever ways we can to bring this to attention till they correct it. Although they use the name Electrolux, their actual name is Dust Trap and do very little business with Electrolux - we were told by Electrolux Headquaters.

I am a trained graphic designer from New York City who happens to be very picky. Scott worked on our front and backyard lightings and they are works of art. He genuninelycares about the job he takes, very dependable, and pours himself onto the job. Amongst so many rip-off artists of the industry, he is a breath of fresh air!

Company Response

It's not a question of being picky, I think you know what you want and together we were able to collaborate and come up with a really nice design aesthetic. It is always a pleasure to be able to interpret the needs of a customer and translate them into a quality lighting design that works on several levels.
Thanks so much for your kind words.

Cheers,
Scott MacKinnon
