We had a tree that tore one of its main branches during a wind storm. The branch was now sitting precariously on top of a few other trees, and had to be removed before it fell on someone/something. Jose and his colleagues were super professional and friendly, and gave us an extremely competitive quote to remove the branch despite it being very large and very difficult to access. During this first project, Jose noticed that the tree was not in great shape because ants had severely infested the main junction of the tree. We were so impressed with Jose's work that we contacted Castor Tree Services again and worked with Freyr this time to remove the tree. Freyr was also very friendly, polite, and professional. He let us know that we would have to submit an emergency permit to the city to remove the tree (because it was so large) and provided us with support to obtain the permit. The removal of the tree went smoothly, and my parents were given quite an entertaining show of Freyr's people and chunks of the tree swinging around in the backyard because they had to remove the tree piece by piece.

We had a pair of furnaces and a pair of AC units that were at the end of their 26 year old lifespans. We consulted 5 companies that were highly-rated on HomeStars to do the job of replacing them. We knew it would be a rather major job because the original pipes for the HVAC system were of the wrong type and also ran across inside significant portion of our basement's ceiling. Out of the 5 companies we contacted, Boris was the first one to respond and come take a look. This was a pattern throughout the job, as Boris was constantly just a phone call, text, or email away. Boris did not try to push anything on us that was super-expensive and beyond what we would need like some of the other companies, which ended up being a good thing because the existing infrastructure in the house probably would not be able to sustain much-higher capacity HVAC units. This meant the cost was reasonable. The installers, Kam and Vijay [sorry if I misspelled your names] were extremely polite and professional. They were also very respectful of our property and took great care not to damage anything unnecessarily. They used a creative solution to run the new piping through the old piping so that our basement ceiling would not need to be torn up. They also managed to compress the previously-quoted 2 days worth of work into 1 day by working tirelessly until 11PM. Because it was very dark by the time they left, there were a few screws/nails left behind on our driveway that they missed during cleanup. When we let Boris know the next day, Boris personally came over with a large magnet-on-a-stick to scour our driveway. Unfortunately, it turned out that the coolant pipes for the AC units in the house were unable to accommodate the updated AC units safely. Boris, with his immense amount of experience, suggested downgrading the capacities of the AC units being installed (with a price adjustment) and installed specialized valves to make sure the new AC units would operate safely. Furthermore, one of the furnace units had a faulty circuit boards on arrival which was a bit disappointing. However, Boris sent a technician over twice the very next day to re-diagnose the problem and replace the circuit board. In my opinion, a very important consideration when hiring a company is how much they will do to accommodate you and whatever issues arise. Boris and Cozy World showed without a doubt with their follow-up and price adjustment that they put their customers first. We are so far (it has been over a week) very satisfied with our new HVAC system.
