I have used James' services twice before. This was the 3rd time I've enlisted James for roofing work. The previous occasions were minor repairs to my personal house due to missing shingles. James is the type of guy that will tell you like it is good or bad. My small jobs on my roof were completely reasonably priced and he wasn't trying to sell me on a new roof. I appreciated that. If James recommends a new roof he has good reason, in my opinion he's the type of guy you can trust. I'm not going up on the roof to look but James goes up, takes pictures, takes the time to explain what he sees in the pictures and why it may be a concern. I am an expert at what I do (it's not roofing), I can't be an expert in everything so I must rely on professionals like James that wont take advantage of me.
The last time I got James' help was end of January early February. We had just had a substantial rain fall at the end of the week going into the weekend. I got a call from my Tennant in my rental that water was coming through the bathroom ceiling and garage ceiling. I immediately called James. He gave me so good advice on how to minimize damage by drilling a hole in the ceiling to let the water drain. I appreciated that, not much you can do during the down pour on the outside of the house.
When the rain stopped a day or two later James came out went up and evaluated the situation. He took pictures and when he came down he explained everything to me, the problems, potential causes, and he gave me a few options on how and when to make the repair. In the end I opted to replace the whole roof. I was expecting to get a standard 15 year roof but I was happy to hear that James only uses the good stuff so my new roof will go well beyond 15 years, I'd have to look at the paper work but I think it's a 25 year roof. And the value is exactly where I I happy to pay it. I have peace of mind now and everything is good. James came in the first chance he had when the weather allowed and did the whole job in a day. Setup was well coordinated with bin drop off etc... and clean up was well done as well no stray shingles or nails. James is an effective communicator, he's not shy to call me if he needs to and he's responsive with picking up the phone or returning messages. I won't have anyone else do any roofing work for me.
