From the beginning, Felicia at Rockwood Kitchens (Peterborough location) was very helpful. While we already had a basic layout created, she was able to adapt and improve on our base layout, providing us with some excellent suggestions for use of space and to optimize aesthetics. Very good (Excellent) communication throughout. I cannot stress how important this is and how well I was kept informed, reminded and followed up with throughout the experience. We also had a great experience when we dropped in and spoke with Kelsee at the Ajax location. We went in to the Ajax showroom to have a look and Kelsee was very helpful with helping us to make decisions on finishes, etc., and then communicated our choices with Felicia to bring it all together. The products in the showroom were of exceptional quality and, while the styles of cabinet are somewhat limited, this made the process much simpler (although choosing from an endless supply of countertop options was a task, LOL). The build quality of the Rockwood-supplied cabinets is quite good, and seemed to have a more substantial feel than those offered by Ikea which, while cheaper, feel cheaper. Everything was checked and double checked during each stage. Products were delivered on time as promised and the installer (Monty) was punctual and consistent in his work. Monty did a fantastic job on the install, involved me in some of the decision making processes and ultimately, came up with the best possible solution to a few of the awkward areas in our kitchen. He left the work area tidy and was a pleasure to chat with as well. Finally, the icing on the cake... the countertops. Ly came out to measure and answer any questions I had. He was thorough and asked questions that I had not considered. I was shocked to learn that our countertops were prepped and ready for delivery well ahead of schedule!!! The gentlemen that accompanied Ly were very careful and delivered and installed the countertops (which were exceptionally heavy) without issue... however, this was the only area where there was a hiccup. Unfortunately, there was an error made that we did not catch until the island countertop was installed (wrong colour, but it matched our perimeter cabinets). That said, the installer was very apologetic and offered to remove the (very heavy slab) and have it replaced without question. We opted to live with the slab that was delivered as it worked well in the layout. In fact it has grown on us quite a bit!!! We appreciate that errors occur and that the Rockwood staff were very quick to respond and offer a resolution to the error. The error was not a big deal to me (life is too short to sweat the small stuff), but the staff at Rockwood took it seriously and treated me very well and more than made up for the error. Finally, there was a follow up with a repair tech to replace a couple of doors that had small warps (I am particular), to make some final adjustments and touchups. Everything was completed to my satisfaction. In closing, I hope that the owners of Rockwood take some time to read this review. As a small business owner myself, I cannot stress enough the importance of having quality, caring staff that are as professional as they are competent all while having an appropriate "sense of urgency" when carrying out their functions. I, personally, have yet to deal with a contractor, supplier or organization that has the ability to take on such a complex task, that requires the input/effort of so many people and bring it together so efficiently. From concept to completion, the Rockwood staff that I dealt with have exceeded my expectations and they should really be commended for their efforts because they were all exceptional and should be commended. Thanks for our new kitchen, it means a lot.
