Initially I was very happy with the sales response received - they provided an excellent quote to provide a replacement AC unit. This back in early June. The AC unit was looking great, the installation was set to take place, all appeared in order. then the work and the nightmares began. The unit brought would not fit the attic space involved, the outside unit had to be changed. After several attempts, the unit was installed in late July and began to work. But we are not finished yet. within a week the unit froze solid and had to be turned off , thawed and inspected. The inside unit was replaced and we started once again. Once again the unit froze up completely - another two weeks and several service calls later they finally came and replaced the outside. In mid September aftera summer of frustration, it appeared that the installed unit is working as promised but only after many frustrating hours of dealing with a Customer Service Dept that is neither responsive or helpful. I have never in my life hated calling for assistance from a customer service organization that was so unresponsive and unhelpful. I spent numerous calls simply getting into their system only to find that I had to repeat everything and I mean every detail the next time i called. They could never find our file, they have no account number for us and their record keeping is worse than nothing.
The latest adventure related to the rebate that they promised from Ontario Power authority. This was submitted i the summer, by them and according to them all was in order. I received a letter in mid September OPA denying the rebate as the form was incorrectly submitted by Reliance. I then spent two weeks trying to get in touch with the right people at Reliance to make good on the application. I was never able to contact the Sales dept, the people who were to submit the rebate. instead, i had to rely on the same Customer service Dept which had been so miserable all summer, regarding our installation and subsequent repairs. It is now three months since this relationship began and I am finally hopeful that the rebate has been resubmitted correctly - only time will tell...
